Multiplatform distribution platform that has partnered with YouTube on content discovery and content distribution

are kick-starting a new project to re-build a Video Streaming platform from the ground up. They are recruiting a

team of Python Developers to work alongside an ex-Google, ex-iPlayer, ex-PS3 team with years of world-class

engineering experience.

Solid Computer Science background, scalability, high availability experience is required as is Python, OO

development skills in an Agile, TDD approach. This is an opportunity to be part of defining and building the

systems and infrastructure that will deliver Video to over 30 million users worldwide in a contextual experience

with advance recommendation techniques.

You need to have experience is:

• Python

• Developing high availability, scalable web services and backend systems

• Java expertise

• Thorough understanding and experience of working with Web Servers and Web

• Application Servers e.g. Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic

• Exposure to cloud computing services (e.g. Amazon S3)

• In depth knowledge of Linux operating system, APIs and commands. Kernel level smarts an advantage.

• Thorough understanding of Internet protocols and technologies, as well as an

• Appreciation of network hardware and design.

• Active knowledge of modern programming tools including:

• SCM e.g. Git/svn, Unit Testing e.g. xUnit, BDD e.g Cucumber, Continuous Integration e.g. Jenkins, Continuous

Deployment e.g. Puppet, maven, Task and Test Automation e.g. Shell Scripting, ant

• An active interest in developing your skills with new programming languages and paradigms including

Functional Programming, Scala, Clojure and Erlang.

• Solid software engineering skills including Object Oriented Software Development, Design Patterns and using

UML to communicate your work.
