Spartan Field will be the site of an exciting gridiron battle at 7:30 on Saturday evening, Oc- tober 25, between the girls of the Sparta High School junior and senior classes. Although there is a good spirit of competition between the two teams, their main objective is to raise money for the school's ath- letic association and to provide an evening of hilarious entertain- ment for area spectators. The members of the weaker(?) sex are taking this event seriously and have been prac- ticing nightly In spite of the cold winds and misty rains. Learning the rules of the game is difficult enough, but the lasses are trying hard to adhere to training rules and have given up trying to wear hair rollers under their football helmets. Nursing a various assortment of bruises and scratches, the junior lasses are being taught the football techniques by Bob Overholt while the seniors are working out game strategy with Corky Klk. "We are going seniors promise. small In number stronger and we'll show them we can fight harder." "They haven't got a chance," retaliated the juniors. "We'll show them up on Saturday night."
