5 Most Common Mistakes During Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking is a great source of entertainment, full of fun, challenge and adventure. It helps to you cross your limit and pushes you beyond your limitation. However, while riding uphill or downhill, some factors should be maintained properly. Here is some of the common mistakes of the beginner riders done while riding in a trail.

5 Most Common Mistakes During Mountain Biking:

1) Looking Downwards or on the front wheel:

The first mistake done by the beginner riders is that they do not look forward. Instead of that they look downwards or the front wheel or the spot in front of it. So whenever any obstacle comes in your way, it comes as a surprise the rider does not have enough time to avoid it.

A famous saying for the MTB lovers is that “The bike will follow wherever you look”. If you looking to a rock or any obstacle which you want to avoid, you will surely have a collision with it. That’s why experts say, confine your attention in the path and stay away from all the obstacles. It is recommended to look at least 10meter ahead of your bike.

2) Wrong Situation Wrong Gear:

Use particular gears allocated for the situation. The beginners do such mistakes because of their enthusiasm. They start riding in too hard gear

then after a while they lose the boost.

This creates some problems for the rider. It is very hard work (pressure your knee) to maintain a momentum in a trail or in any downhill slopping. But most of the new riders do not have enough skills to maintain such big gear rather than it is ideal situation. So, do not push yourself too far by using inappropriate gears.

3) Don’t Use Overinflated Tire:

training very much. Over inflated tire may roll faster and reduce the pressure but it also reduce the grip, your control, natural cornering ability in harsh and tricky ride.

One of the most important factors of a mountain bike is Grip and it affects the bikes performance in uneven roots and safety factor depends much on it. If you put too much air pressure, the grip of the tire will reduce. In a hard ride, an over inflated tire will create bouncing.

4) Select The Proper Bike:

Select the right bike which suits your purpose and riding style. Do not buy a road bike while riding in a MTB Trails. Just buy the bike which suits with your weight, height and riding style.

You do not want to ride in a big travel bike while your friends are riding in a light MTB in difficult trails or cross country races. So pick up the best gadget for you. Other bike may try to attract you by their fancy features. Picking up a wrong bike by due to fancy influence is one of the common mistakes for the riders.

5) Maintain You Health:

It is mandatory for the beginners to keep their energy level high so that their muscle can get enough fuel to remain operational. It is also important to drink plenty of water. The beginner riders do not follow these things. Especially they suffer from dehydration.
