GAUGE:Motif = 514" square.

BASIC STITCHES:

Ch, sl st, sc, hdc, dc.

SPECIAL STITCHES:For beginning shell (beg shell),(ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same chsp as sl st.

For shell, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in nextch-2 sp.

For joined shell, 3 dc in next ch-2sp at corner, ch 1, hdc in corre-sponding ch-2 sp at corner of pre-vious Motif, 3 dc in same ch-2 spat corner of this Motif.

AFGHAN1: Make 70 Motif Centers35 with

yellow for rnd 1 and blue for rnd2; 35 with blue for rnd 1 and yel-low for rnd 2.

2: For first row of Motifs, make oneFirst Motif; alternating colors ofMotif Centers, make nine SecondMotifs forming a strip ten Motifslong.

3: For secondseventh rows ofMotifs, alternating colors of Motif

Centers and joining to last row,make one Second Motif and nineThird Motifs.
