I am yet again creating DIY Easy rings and this time I have 5 braided DIY rings. :) I also think I'll make it a regular monthly thing as I really enjoy coming up with new designs. They are honestly super easy to make! No kidding! It takes no time to make these DIY rings, so there is no excuse not to make them :) Create your own DIY jewelry starting with a handmade ring! They only take 5 minutes to make! I'm sure if you decide to make one or all of these DIY rings and give them as presents, they will be much appreciated by your loved ones. I actually own a fair bit of jewelry making tools, but I assume most of you guys don't have jewelry making stuff (as I guess not everyone wants to make jewelry all the time) and that's why I came up with an easy way of making these DIY rings with no professional jewelry making tools. I am using a wire cutter, but you can swap it for any old wire cutting tool or even heavy duty scissors! If you have enjoyed this instructable on how to make DIY easy rings, then please give it thumbs up and you can even subscribe to my YouTube channel ;) You can also follow me on social media to see what else I am up to :) And share your creations! Your very own handmade ring if you decide to make it :) Oh and let me know if you would like to see more of these' 5 minute crafts ':)) My YouTube channel Facebook Instagram Twitter Instructables Check out my Etsy store with unique handmade jewelry: My Etsy Shop PS: And just to remind you, I am running a GIVEAWAY until the end of January, so watch the GIVEAWAY video here if you are interested in winning a pair of gorgeous silver and crystal earrings: //www.youtube.com/embed/6CvtGwYteL0 5 DIY Easy Rings - Braided & No Tools!: Page 1

Step 2: Materials needed

DIY easy rings - materials:

No.1

Copper wire (20 gauge non tarnish from PalmersMetals), a dark blue-green bead, Wire cutters, something round to wrap your ring around(similar tothe width of your finger)

No.2

Copper wire (20 gauge non tarnish from PalmersMetals), tiny blue beads - five with iridescent coatingand five without, wire cutters, something round towrap your ring around

No.3

Gold plated copper wire -18 gauge from Beadsmith,Swarovski crystal(45mm - SWAROVSKI CHATONCLEAR CUT CRYSTAL FOILED POINTED BACK ),hot glue gun(Stanley), Glue sticks(Stanley), piece ofsticky tape, Exacto knife, wire cutters, somethinground to wrap your ring around

TIP: TRY NOT TO USE THE NAIL FILE ON THEEDGES OF THE RING, IN FACT YOU CAN SKIPTHIS STEP AND YOU CAN ROUGHEN THESURFACE WITH JUST THE EXACTO KNIFE INTHE MIDDLE OF THE RING. I used the file and onceI cut the glue off, the filed damaged surface becamevisible. So learn from my mistake :))

No.4

Silver plated copper wire - 18 gauge from Beadsmith, silver plated copper wire - 26 gauge from Beadsmith(thin), frosted bead-silver, but you can use any bead, wire cutters, something round to wrap your ringaround

No.5

Copper wire (20 gauge non tarnish from PalmersMetals), silver plated copper wire (20 gauge nontarnish from Palmers Metals), gold plated copper wire(20 gauge non tarnish from Palmers Metals), wirecutters, something round to wrap your ring around

Step 3: Ring No. 1

Cut a piece of copper wire and fold it in half then cutanother piece and add to the first one. Twist the top ofthe wires together to keep them secured in place.

Start braiding the wires as you would braid your (orsomeone's hair :)) after about an inch(or so) ofbraiding add your bead to the middle wire. wrap theother two around it and carry on braiding. Again afterabout an inch stop braiding and get your 'somethinground' :) and wrap your ring around it. Then take it offthe 'something round' (hahaha! I think I'm coming upwith a joke here!...just hope I'm not the only one

laughing...) and cut the excess wire off.

Grab your wire cutters (you can even use small nailscissors) and bend the end of each wire into a smallloop, then press it down with the wire cutters to makeit flatter. I bent the two side wires up and the middleone down to secure the braid.

This principal is more or less used for all the rings inthis tutorial. :)

Step 4: Ring No.2

Cut a piece of copper wire and fold it in half then cut another piece and add to the first one. Twist the top to keep itsecured in place.

Start braiding the wire and with each braid add a small bead. I used a mix of blue and iridescent blue beads asblue goes so well with copper!

After about 2 inches or so of braiding, finish exactly the same as ring No.1 :)

Step 5: Ring No.3

Braid a ring out of gold plated wire and finish thesame way as ring No.1.

Roughen the surface of the ring with nail file andExacto knife on the top(sort of in the middle) and alsothe reverse of the ring. I've done that to help the glueto stick and hold better. But here is a tip:

TIP: TRY NOT TO USE THE NAIL FILE ON THEEDGES OF THE RING, IN FACT YOU CAN SKIPTHIS STEP AND YOU CAN ROUGHEN THESURFACE WITH JUST THE EXACTO KNIFE INTHE MIDDLE OF THE RING. I used the file all overthe place :) and once I cut the glue off, the fileddamaged surface became visible. So learn from mymistake :))

Slide the ring onto your 'something round' (here we

go again hahaha). Get a piece of sticky tape andwrap it around your finger. Then stick the top of thecrystal onto it. Apply a drop of hot glue to theroughened surface of the ring and carefully place yourcrystal into the glue drop. Using one of your otherfingers, press the crystal into the glue even more. Then apply glue to the reverse of the ring and youcan even flatten the glue by going over it with the tipof the glue gun.

Once the glue cools down, start cutting it off with yourExacto knife. Cut around the crystal in an angle(angleof the pointed back of the crystal) and remove theexcess glue using your fingers. Do the same at theback of the ring. The idea is to leave a small piece ofglue in one of the loops underneath the crystal so thatit's not too visible, but holding the crystal in place. :)

Step 6: Ring No. 4

Braid a ring out of silver plated wire and finish thesame way as ring No.1.

Using thin silver wire, attach your bead. In my case afrosted silver bead, but you can use any. Treat thethin wire as a needle and a thread and go here andthere to secure the bead to the ring :) I know this is

not the best explanation, but really, this is how itworks, you will intuitively know what to do next :) Andthe photos'll help too :) When you are finished, makesure both ends of wire come out of the two holes onthe bead and then cut them off.

Step 7: Ring No.5

Cut a piece of gold plated, silver plated and copper wire (Or if you are loaded you can go for real gold and silverand copper.... ehmm perhaps rose gold instead of copper... :)) And following the instructions in ring No.1 tutorial, braid and finish your ring! :)

And that's it :)))
