NINER NUGGETS }For the second time this season, the 49ers have had a game af- fected by weather as a potential snowstorm in the Charlotte area has resulted in the Niners traveling a day earlier than planned and moving their contest with Mercer up one day to Saturday. }The change to Saturday extends Charlotte’s longest break between games to 10 days, as it will not return to the court until Dec. 18 when it plays host to Wright State for Education Day inside Halton Arena. }The broadcast for Saturday’s tip against the Bears has been moved over to ESPN3 from ESPN+. It marks the first of two ESPN3 games on this year’s slate for the 49ers, along with the Conference USA opener at WKU Jan. 3. League tournament games in March in Frisco, Texas, are slated for coverage on either ESPN+ or ESPN3. }Redshirt junior Jade Phillips topped the 20-point plateau for the third time this season with a game-best 24 points in Wednesday’s contest against Wake Forest. }She has three of the four Niners’ 20-plus scoring performances this season and is joined by a 20-point showing from Jazmin Harris at Fordham Nov. 18. }Redshirt sophomore Christian Hithe has started her first 49ers’ campaign by defying normal rebounding logic. Most players typi- cally grab more defensive boards than offensive, however, Hithe is leading the charge the other way with nine on the offensive glass versus just two defensively. Her nine offensive caroms place her fifth among her teammates. }Senior Laia Raventós netted seven points against Wake Forest Wednesday and now enters Saturday’s tip with Mercer just nine shy of becoming the 24th player in program history to reach 1,000 for her career. }Raventós, a Nancy Lieberman Award Preseason Watch List candi- date, also is quickly approaching the school’s all-time assists record, a mark held by Ny Hammonds (2011-14) she will surpass with 13 more. }Freshman Maddie Moore saw her most extensive action as a Niner thus far in Wednesday’s game with Wake Forest, playing 17 minutes. }Charlotte’s 5-2 start through the season’s first seven games match- es the best opening stretch under head coach Cara Consuegra. The Niners also began the 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2015-16 campaigns with a 5-2 mark.
