1930: THE FIRST BABY PUDDINGS IN GREECE

JOTIS RICE CEREAL Introduced in 1930, it was the first solid baby food in the Greek market. Its social impact was enormous, as it contributed to lowering high infant mortality rates, due to the dysentery epidemic.

JOTIS MAIZE CEREAL Introduced in 1930, it was the first children’s pudding manufactured in Greece. It quickly became the favourite pudding for both children and adults.

JOTIS MAIZE CEREAL and JOTIS RICE CEREAL were the first products the company exported to the U.S.A. under its brand name. 1950: THE FIRST DESSERTS IN GREECE

JOTIS FRUIT JELLY. In the early 1950’s YIOTIS launched JOTIS FRUIT JELLY on the Greek market. Consumers welcomed this new product as it was the first fruity dessert in Greece.

In 1930, Ioannis and Maria Yiotis founded YIOTIS company in Athens.

Their goal was to develop wholesome foods for the Greek children, with pure ingredients from the finest Greek crops, such as corn and rice.

The result was JOTIS RICE CEREAL and JOTIS MAIZE CEREAL, which were innovative for their time and constituted the first baby and children’s puddings in Greece.

In the 1980’s, in an effort to meet consumers' needs for low calories desserts, YIOTIS launched SUGAR FREE FRUIT JELLY.

JOTIS CRÉME CARAMELJOTIS CRÉME CARAMEL,

was launched in the early 60's, opening up new perspectives in YIOTIS desserts category.

This product is instantly prepared (no baking required) and contains ready-to-use real caramel syrup in the pack.

1965: JOTIS FARINA THE FIRST SELF-RAISING FLOUR IN GREECE.

The first self-raising flour constitute another innovation by YIOTIS, under the brand name JOTIS FARINA.

The brand name FARINA quickly became the synonymous for self-raising flours.

1969: JOTIS MAIZE, CEREAL AND RICE FLAKES

In 1969 YIOTIS introduced in Greece the first pre-roasted baby foods, in the form of Maize, Cereal and Rice Flakes. Its aim was to provide a balanced and high- quality diet for babies.

1972: JOTIS FARINE LACTEE, CREMITA & CEREALS In 1972, YIOTIS added JOTIS FARINE LACTEE, CREMITA and CEREALS to its product portfolio of baby foods.

1988: JOTIS CAOTONIC DRINK

In 1988, YIOTIS launched CAOTONIC drink. This instant drink offers 11 vitamins, 4 mineral elements, iron and a delicious taste in milk.

1990: JOTIS CAKESTHE FIRST INTEGRATED DESSERT KITS IN GREECE

In 1992, YIOTIS introduced JOTIS CAKE Kits, both in Greek and German markets.These dessert kits enclose all materials required for preparing and decorating delicious home made cakes without baking and cooking, ready in 15 minutes.

JOTIS CAKES were embraced by consumers and achieved great commercial success. They also won the international SIAL D’OR prize in 1994 for:

1990: JOTIS BÉCHAMEL SAUCE

In 1990 YIOTIS introduced the innovative “BÉCHAMEL SAUCE” mix on the Greek market, to satisfy consumers’ needs for instant preparation, in 1 minute, without boiling.

1991: JOTIS FRUIT CREME

In 1991, YIOTIS launched FRUIT CRÉME, a baby cream with 5 natural fruits, based on wheat and milk. This new fruit puree provides babies with necessary energy, proteins, vitamins and minerals, for a proper growth.

1995: CAOTONIC CHOCO, THE FIRST CHOCOLATE ON A STICK

In 1995, YIOTIS introduced the first chocolate on a stick, in the shape of CAOTONIC hero rich in vitamins and nutritional values.

1997: JOTIS CHOCOLATES In 1997, YIOTIS entered the chocolate market with a series of chocolates for both children and adults.

The new products are:

• CAOTONIC 3D, chocolate bar with biscuit and cream• CAOTONIC STICKS, Viennese waffle with cream filling and chocolate coating • CAOTONIC FRIENDS, chocolate bar

BLUES, a premium mini chocolate with praline filling and almonds.

DIFFERS, a chocolate snack with Viennese waffle, praline filling, milk chocolate and almonds.

2000: JOTIS 6 CEREAL AND BISCUIT CRÉMES

JOTIS CEREAL CRÉME contains 6 different cereals and milk, while JOTIS BISCUIT CRÉME is made of wheat flour, milk and biscuits: ingredients that provide all strength and energy babies require.

2000: BABY MILK A COMPLETE INFANT NUTRITION SYSTEM Seventy years of experience, scientif ic development and continuous lab research have led to the formulation of SANILAC range of infant milk by YIOTIS.

SANILAC infant milk is a product of high quality, as close as possible to breast milk. It covers the needs of babies in all stages of growth, providing all necessary vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

The range consists of milks for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd stages of babies’ growth, as well as special milks (for babies suffering from colics, lactose intolerance or regurgitation).

2003: MAIZE CEREAL BABY CRÉME

MAIZE CEREAL baby crème is added to the range of YIOTIS baby foods.

2004: READY-TO-EAT DESSERTS

As part of YIOTIS efforts to satisfy recent nutrition

trends, YIOTIS invested in a new market:

refrigerated, ready-to-eat desserts. The strategy

behind this big line extension was to transfer some of the most successful -and highly connected with the brand- products to the convenient and "fresh" concept of refrigerated, ready-to-eat products.The range of refrigerated YIOTIS desserts consists of 3 groups of products:• PUDDINGS • DESSERTS (such as Crème Caramel and Profiterole) • TRADITIONAL CREAM and RICE PUDDING

2005: HEMO

In 2005 YIOTIS added another product of high nutritional value, awareness, and consumers’ loyalty, by producing the malt drink HEMO. HEMO is a powder with chocolate taste, rich in vitamins, minerals and malt.

2007: READY-TO-EAT FRUIT JELLY

As part of YIOTIS strategy to invest in the refrigerated market, its famous FRUIT JELLY was launched in a ready-to-eat form. This refreshing jelly with pieces of real fruits comes in three flavours: strawberry, cherry and pineapple.

2009: FARIN LACTEE WITH BISCUITS

FARINE LACTEE WITH BISCUITS was added in the range of JOTIS Baby Foods in 2009. It is a baby cream with wheat flour, milk and biscuits. Enriched with 9 vitamins and iron and with a delicious taste.

2009: SANILAC HA

In 2009 infant milk range was extended to include a hydrolyzed formula: SANILAC HA. Its composition is suitable for babies with milk protein allergy.

2009: FYTRO, ORGANIC, ANTHOS

Yiotis S.A expanded its portfolio by acquiring the brands FYTRO, ORGANIC and ANTHOS. This acquisition was in line with YIOTIS strategy to offer

propositions of high nutritional value, following the contemporary trends for healthier nutrition and lifestyle.

2009: SWEET & BALANCE

In November of 2009, YIOTIS launched a new, innovative range of sugar-free desserts, under the umbrella name “Sweet & Balance”.

The new series of Sweet and Balance desserts is breaking new ground! They combine the characteristics of a healthy diet: low Glycemic Index (GI), no sugar, fibres, limited calories and fat, with an excellent taste.

Sweet & Balance series consists of Millefeuille, Cheesecake, Cookies and Cream dessert, Mousse with Chocolate flavour, Chocolate Syrup, Crème Caramel, Refrigerated Milk and Jelly desserts, Cake, Chocolate bar and mini Chocolates, Jelly in cherry or strawberry flavour, Crème Patissiere and table top sweetener granulated and in tablets.

Clinical studies of Sweet & Balance range provide evidence that they are suitable for diabetics and obese people, under the appropriate guidance and consenting opinion of a doctor or a nutritionist.

YIOTIS facilities initially covered an area of approximately 300 sq. metres. Today, they occupy 30,000 sq. metres in 2 installations in Athens, which operate with the most up-to-date mechanical equipment in Europe.The complete renovation that took place over the last decade was the result of a €15 million investment, which included building extensions, expansion of existing production lines, purchase of new production lines as well as new packaging machines for the:

• Production of baby foods (mixing and thermal processing, drying in drum dryers and packaging) • Production and packaging of traditional as well as modern products, with fully automated production processes, weight checks and inspection for foreign bodies• Chocolates' manufacturing • Fully automated receipt and transportation of raw materials for baby foods, chocolate products and powder mixtures, as well as the manufacturing of confectionery and cooking products

• Production and packaging of refrigerated desserts, without the use of preservatives.

YIOTIS company uses technologically advanced equipment for the quantitative analyses and quality control of foodstuffs, as well as for the processing of qualitative and production data.

Since 1995, all company’s data is stored and processed in databases of special specifications and quality control, in order to safeguard full monitoring of products and integrated application of product quality assurance (HACCP).

This system was characterized as innovative research work by the Ministry of Development. This integrated software operates as an auxiliary platform of the ERP SAP and covers the entire range of production, quality control and product design.

YIOTIS distribution network operates with fully automated systems for record keeping and storage of data, to ensure swift execution of orders

PRODUCT RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT-QUALITY CONTROL

The department of “Research & Development and Quality Assurance” consists of 4 laboratories (Research & Development, Quality Control, Microbiological Analysis and Instrumental Analysis), which are staffed with specialized scientists (Chemists, Agriculturalists, Chemical Engineers, Food Technologists, Biologists etc.)

YIOTIS labs, which are housed in privately owned premises, occupy approximately 800 sq.m. and are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and analytical instruments.

In order to verify the operational precision and accuracy, YIOTIS labs participate, annually, in approximately 70 Pan-European Proficiency Schemes such as FAPAS and FEMAS competing with professional laboratories.

Since 1990, YIOTIS has participated in more than 20 Research and Development programs funded by the Greek Ministry of Development and the European Union, resulting in innovative products and analytical techniques.

Apart from regular analytical techniques, the

laboratories of Research & Development and Quality

Assurance also conduct analyses using the following

• ELISA: Determination of allergens and

contaminants such as mycotoxins

• High Performance Liquid (HPLC) and Gas

Chromatography (GC) for measurement of vitamins

and analysis of fatty acids profile

• Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy,

(AAS) for analytical determination of

heavy metals

• Enzyme Analyses for elements such as

sulphites, Glucose, Sugar, Lactose and

other sugars

QUALITY POLICY

Within the frame of contemporary quality and safety requirements, besides the design, deployment, application and maintenance of a Food Quality and Safety System in compliance to the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 22000:2005 International Standards, the company also operates under the procedures and requirements posed by the BRC Global Standard-Food.

Using its contemporary industrial facilities, state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and, above all, a highly trained and committed human resource to operate them, YIOTIS designs, develops, produces and distributes food products falling under the categories of baby food, powder mixes for cooking and confectionery products, bakery, chocolates, syrups and chilled desserts.

At the same time, YIOTIS acknowledges its responsibility against all involved social parties,

consumers and employees for compliance with pertinent legislative requirements applicable under its scope of activities, including occupational hygiene and safety and environmental awareness. YIOTIS is committed to fulfill bilateral approved agreements with industrial and retail customers always in strive for continuous improvement.

YIOTIS management is dedicated in providing all the resources necessary within its scope, emphasizing to machinery and human resources. Towards continuous improvement YIOTIS has established, maintains and monitors indexes and S.M.A.R.T. targets within predetermined intervals.

With an established history ageing back to 1930, YIOTIS has always been and is still con-fronting modern challenges for quality and safety in the field of food manufacturing.

CERTIFICATIONS

The basic philosophy of the founder of the company was to manufacture quality products that were easy to prepare and fulfilled the needs of the consumer. This philosophy has been applied to the manufacture of all our products and remains unchanged until today. Since 1997 the company has been certified against ISO 9001:2008, I S O 2 20 0 0 : 20 05 I nte r n at i o n a l Standards and operates under the requirements

of the BRC Global Standard - Food. In addition, independent inspections are carried out every six months, to ensure that the company complies with international safety and quality standards.

3) 2005 AWARD TO YIOTIS BY THE HELLENIC WORLD FOUNDATION

YIOTIS was honoured by the Hellenic World Foundation for its contribution, during the celebrations on the 7 years of operation of the “Hellenic World” Cultural Centre.YIOTIS sponsored exceptionally interesting educational programmes by the Foundation, within the framework of its sponsored programmes centred on the child and its education.

4) 1999 BRAND PRODUCT PRIZE BY ACCI

5) OPPACK AWARDS 1997

The packaging of the children’s chocolates: CAOTONIC CHOCO, CAOTONIC CHOCO STICKS, CAOTONIC CHOCO 3D, CAOTONIC CHOCO FRIENDS and the packaging for X-TREME, were given the OPPACK AWARD 1997 for Greece. The packaging was awarded for its originality and materials, which contribute to protecting the product.

6) BRONZE LION FOR JOTIS MAD ADVERTISING SPOT

At Cannes International Advertising Festival, the television spot of MAD won the bronze medal. This award is a top distinction for Advertising and it is the first time a Greek television spot has been awarded in this leading, international festival.

7) FIRST INTERNATIONAL PRIZE SIAL D’OR-PARIS 1994 - JOTIS CAKES

At the international competition of SIAL exhibition in Paris, the highly successful range of cake kits by YIOTIS won the first SIAL D’OR prize for Greece. Among products from 18 countries around the world, YIOTIS Cakes were awarded for their pioneering idea, which satisfies the needs of modern consumers for a high quality, convenient packaging, a wide range of flavours and ease of preparation in home-made desserts.
