10 PowerPointPresentation TipsCompose slides – Don’t
copy and paste from a bunch of different places.
Use consistency – Choose the same colours and font styles throughout. This includes the background template.
Use contrast – Black on white is always the most effective and most boring choice. But, whatever your choice don’t make your audience strain.
Apply brilliance – Use colours to highlight your points. But, don’t weaken your message by including too much on one slide.
KISS – Keep It Straight and Simple. Use Keywords. Make an attempt not to read your slides directly.

10 PowerPointPresentation TipsTake Home Messages
– What you want the audience to leave with; a summary.
Use Images – Not just to decorate, but to exhibit or explain.
Don’t be silly – Overusing animations and media. Use them to clarify and model your ‘take home point’.
Keep your audience in mind – Nothing else already covered matters if you lose the attention of your audience.
Practice – Know the slides. Edit the slides. Speak to the audience.
