“Faith is to believe what you do not yet see; the reward for this faith is to see what you believe.” ~ St. Augustine
Greetings in the name of Jesus from all of us at Equilibrium! Welcome to the fourth edition of Changing Times. Over the past 3 months, we have been making steady progress to both be and facilitate the change that breaks the chains that are keeping our communities in bondage. During April and May we have continued our work in our 3 partner schools; assisting with Life Orientation Lessons and Sports Coaching, running After-school Programmes, and providing a Counselling service. We also managed to fit in some extra life skills training at one of our partner schools, Range Secondary in Matroosfontein, Elsies River, to address the recent increases of violent incidents at the school (see story on page 3). Towards the end of the term, we lend a helping hand to our German friends from Immanuel International Outreach Ministries as they did ministry and charity work at our partner schools (see page 4). Over the last quarter, we have spent a considerable amount of time and effort in planning the holiday club for primary school pupils; the programme ran during the World Cup holidays from 14
th to 28
th
June and was a soul-winning success as more than 200 kids commit-ting their lives to Christ (read more about it on pages 5 & 6). So, day by day as we walk by faith, we are seeing what we’re believ-ing for “A Community in Change”; as the quote by St Augustine states “Faith is to believe what you do not yet see; the reward for this faith is to see what you believe.” So I hope that this update will in-spire you to cultivate a living faith that will bring forth great fruit to the glory Once again, our heartfelt thanks for your ongoing support. It is our prayer that God may “bless you with His special favour and wonder-ful peace as you come to know Jesus, our God and Lord, better and better.” (2 Pet 1v2)

Mr Mandela’s wise words on anger: “Anger is a temporary feeling- you soon forget it, particularly if you are involved in positive activities and attitudes. It is not easy to remain bitter if one is busy with constructive things.”
With violent incidents on the rising, and even, a reported physical attack on an educator at Range High School, school principal Mr Kayster, approached Equilibrium (whose already actively involved in the Life Orientation Lessons at the school) to facilitate an AN-GER MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP for Grade 9 Learners. The aim of the workshop was to equip learners with essential life skills on how to manage their own anger constructively; resolve conflict with others effectively, and handle everyday life challenges in posi-tive ways. The object lesson of “anger balloons” proved to be very effec-tive in demonstrating to learners that unresolved anger may lead to outbursts of aggression. And the interactive sessions, gave learners the opportunity to discuss different aspects & responses to anger; do role-playing; and provide feedback about their attitude. Learners learned that every person has the right to feel angry; but no one has the right to harm or hurt others because of anger; instead the negative feelings can be expressed in crea-tive and positive ways. Because, “If you cannot control your anger, you are as helpless as a city without walls, open to at-tack.” Prov 25v28
Please continue to pray for the ongoing work of Equilibrium at Range
High School.

Ten years ago God gave Udo & Caroline Schiesl the vision to take a team of faithful Christians to Cape Town to equip and evangelize those in the more dis-advantaged and under-resourced areas. After much prayer over the years, Immanuel International Out-reach Ministries (IIOM) was birthed, and ever since 2007 the couple have led missionary teams to Cape Town, every year. Equilibrium joined hands in ministry with IIOM as they did outreach at one of our partner schools. During the outreach event, Trudy (a member of IIOM) presented school bags that she collected from German students to be donated to underprivileged students. Through Trudy’s initiative, a 1000 school bags were collected; however, a permit is required to get it into South Africa.
Please pray for the work of IIOM that it may bear much fruit to the glory of God. Also ask for God’s fa-vour on our application for a permit in order to meet the practical need of students who do not have school bags at the moment.

World Cup 2010 Holiday Club – QHUBEKA WENA GET YA GAME ON
During the past World Cup holiday, Equilibrium partnered with local Churches, the
Department of Cultural Affairs & Sport (DCAS), Chrysalis Academy and Themba,
to run the “Get ya game on” Holiday Programme, for the children of Clark Estate,
Matroosfontein, Uitsig and surrounding areas.
Approximately 2000 kids participated in the 2 holiday programme which ran from 14 - 28
June at Edward Primary & Uitsig Primary Schools. Over the 10 day period, kids received
a meal every day, and were able to partake in Sports competitions, Creative Dance, Arts
& Crafts, and other recreational activities. For those bitten by the soccer bug, professional coach-
ing was provided; and everyone (some as young as 5 years old) had an opportunity to show their
steel. With the amount of talent on display, there is once again hope for the future of Bafana
Bafana! Besides, the good food and fun activities provided, the gospel was also preached to the
youngsters at the holiday club and in total 223 made commitments to Christ. The new
converts are now linked with a partner church where they are being disciple and nurtured
in the fear and admonition of the LORD. To God be the glory, great things He has done!
A special thanks to Latreo Church, DCAS, Chrysalis, Themba and Equilibrium for providing
volunteers.
Please continue to pray for these babes in Christ to crave pure spiritual milk so that by it
they may grow into the fullness of their salvation, especially now that they have tasted that
the Lord is good. (1 Pet 2v2-3)

With the 100 by 100 Initiative we are trusting God for 100 people to pledge
R100 monthly (for a period of 3, 6 or 12 months).
Please know that we keep on praying for you, that "our God will make you worthy of the life to
which He called you and that by His power, He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and
every act prompted by your faith." (2Thes 1:11)
People Update We are bidding farewell to Tarren Diedericks, our school’s worker at Norwood Primary and JS Kloppers Primary, as she has enrolled for teacher training. Tarren has done an outstanding job, over the past 6 months and it’s truly been an honour and a privilege to have her as part of our ministry. We pray God Blessings on her future endeavours as she embarks on her studies to become a teacher. The husband of one of our Community workers Margaret Mambuke is battling with cancer; he is currently undergo ing treatment and we are planning a fundraiser to help cover some of the medical costs.
For any contribution towards the medical cost please contact us -see page 8 for details
Please pray to God to be a very present help to this family in this time of great need. On a Lighter note : a new schools worker Neldene Kleinsmidt , has join our team. Neldene will be placed in JS Kloppers & Nor-wood Primary . Neldene has been one of our stars at the 2010 June Holiday programme. Please pray that Neldene will settle in the new term ahead.
Finance Update Financially, the first 6 months of 2010 has been challenging; and at the time of writing (this up-date), we are trusting God for R6,000 to cover operating costs for July and Aug. The “100 by 100” Project kicked off with a rather slow start; so would you consider becoming part of the 100 peo-ple to pledge R100 monthly (for a period of 3, 6 or 12 months)? Please pray that God will send His provision and my you also prayerfully consider sowing into this ministry knowing that God “who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be en-riched in every way for all your generosity, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.” [2 Cor 9v9-10]
