It’s a good day when you’re covered by both Tech Cocktail and the Times Picayune.
“The goal of this year’s Launch Fest, from the startup perspective, was to showcase the best investment-ready companies in New Orleans to local angel and national VC communities.
Entertainment was plentiful, with a jam-packed roster of speakers during the morning segment – including Alexis Ohanian – and impressive company demos in the afternoon.
Launch Fest, timed to the Thursday session of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Presented by Shell and the affiliated Sync Up music business conference, also included speeches by New Orleans and out-of-town entrepreneurs, advice from representatives of investor funds and presentations by eight start-ups to an auditorium of potential investors at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
“
The Launch Pad class took on a new twist this year with a stage agnostic approach which combined a class of companies some of which were brand new with several that had already raised capital and had significant traction. The goal was the showcase the best investment-ready companies in New Orleans to the local angel and national VC community.
