Size overflow based on flow velocity becween 1 and 3 ft / sec.

CALCULATE SIZE OF VENT

This is perhaps the most critical calculation. The flashed steam must leave the tank through the · vent without building up back pressure sufficient to blowout the water seal.

Criteria: Use 1 psi Velocity Head 1 psi Pressure Drop 2 psi Total

Limiting Velocity 480 ft/sec
