VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTIONS There are several different volunteering roles within the organization, and exact duties will vary dependent on activity selected. The information below is provided as a brief overview of activity and is not intended to be a definitive list of duties. Please note that volunteers requesting a reference for other volunteering/employment/study need to have completed 60 hours voluntary work for us before we can provide a reference. Aims To provide support to people who have learning disabilities or difficulties (adults with the exception of M8’s youth club). To enable them participate in a range of educational or vocational activities or within a social group setting. Or providing support to staff with delivery of these services. Title Based at* Duties Times required Commitment Work Coach Volunteer - Education and Training, and social and leisure activities HH Accountable to: Manager, Lifestyle Choices Providing support to the relevant tutor or activity leader. Provide support to service users as required, particularly with literacy and numeracy. Assisting staff to set up and clear away equipment as necessary. 9.30am to 12 noon or 12.45 to 3.15pm Mon to Fri Minimum one regular 1/2 day per week M8’s Club/Gener8 Club Volunteer HH Accountable to: Club manager Supporting young people to participate in a range of activities including indoor and outdoor games, cookery, arts and crafts. The setting up and clearing away of equipment. Supporting on outings i.e. cinema, bowling, swimming and ensuring the safety and wellbeing service users. M8s: 10.45 am to 4.30 pm 2 Saturdays per month. Gener8: 10.45 am to 4.30 pm, 2 Saturdays per month M8s the 1 st and 3 rd Saturday of each month. Gener8 the 2 nd and 4 th Saturday of each month

Fundraising Volunteer HH ● Accountable to: Fundraiser

● To help at fundraising events i.e. street and supermarket

collections, discos etc

● To assist in public awareness work on an informal basis.

We are also very keen to work with people who would like to organize their own fundraising events on behalf of the organization.
