Overall purpose of this series on Leadership

PrinciplesTo provide concepts and tools for effective leadership and management so that you can: • Be more anointed in your workplace.

• Use these material to facilitate the work of evangelism.



Objectives

• 1. Participants will learn the five leadership roles in the church.

• 2. Participants will evaluate their lives and make appropriate changes based on the questions asked around these roles.



Passage to memorizePsalm 86: 9-12

Teach me your way O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart,

that I may fear your name. I will praise you o Lord my God with all my heart; I will glorify

your name forever.



God gave at least five type of leaders to the church

They exist to complete the members’ growth and to equip them

to serve.Eph. 4: 12-16



Apostle

One sent forth to pioneer and stablish new works and new

leaders.



Prophet

One who speaks forth God’s Word to inspire, correct, and to

motivate.



Evangelist

One who shares Christ with outsiders and trains others to

do so.



Pastor

One who shepherds, guides, and guards God’s people and

they serve.



Teacher

One who train’s God’s people in the truth and teaches others to

do so.



Ask yourself the following questions:

What externally significant growth occurs in the lives of

those you lead?




Do people understand that our role is to equip them to serve?




How are your followers serving and ministering?




Do you know that involvement in service is essentail to

growth?




Do you grow spiritually and mature as a result of your

ministry involvement?




Do your lifestyle relect Christ’s character?




What percenatge of your faith and involvement is easily

shaken?




Do you build up other people?



Prayer Focus• Father, In the name of Jesus, I

surrender myself to walk in the Word. Your word living in me produces the Life in this world.

• The word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. It makes my way plain before me.

• I boldly and confidently say that my heart is fixed and established on the solid foundation – the Living Word of God! Amen

Learning, application and commitment: James 1: 22-25

• But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it - he will be blessed in what he does.” (NIV)
