you about 411 Sports
and Entertainment
411 S&E). Publishing
his newspaper has
been a long time
coming from me, but
he struggles and
sacrifices have beenwell worth it so we
can bring you the
atest in sports and
entertainment.
HISTORY
n 1993, I was introduced to the idea of
creating a newsletter that would give
he music industry in Dallas the Ins and
Outs on the latest in the business called
411 Publications. The newsletter was
short-lived and after only two issues,we ceased production. God had bigger
plans for me.
n 1994, 411 Sports was registered with
he City of Dallas as a legal business
orm. Even though production did not
start right away, my journey secured
jobs for me that would shape my
business and train me on how this
paper would operate. Finally, in 1999,
411 Sports, LLC was formed.
Although my work experiences
equipped me to sufficiently run a
business, I had not a clue about the
culture of newsprint and journalism.
Fortunately during that time, I became
he director of creative services for The
Dallas Weekly news publication, where
or five years, I acquired new skills and
echniques that helped me create the
prototype for what 411 Sports &
Entertainment is now.
In August 2004, the first issue of 411
Sports & Entertainment
was in newsstands and
on the streets. I was not
prepared for the positive
response that we
received from readers,
but the experience going
from concept to
execution has been one I
would not trade.
While we still have a fewglitches to fix with the
paper, its many looks
being among them, we
know that eventually, the
look, feel and content
will reach the quality that readers will
come to appreciate and support with
each issue.
PRESENT
Currently being published twice per
month, 411 Sports & Entertainmentnewspaper is the only one of its kind.
Our advisory board continues go grow
and includes prominent members of the
sports and entertainment industries and
the entertainment section has taken on
a life of its own.
I am excited about the direction of the
paper, with each section lending itself
to a wide variety of audiences. We now
have a restaurant section and a
business directory. One of the sections
that I have grown to love is the "He
Say/She Say" column. This section was
created while reading e-mails from
readers. It is funny how you can see an
argument through e-mails.
Subsequently, one of our writers
responded to one of the e-mails and
from there, the magic started. This
section gives a male's point of view and
a female's point of view on various
touchy subjects. Remember the book,
Men Are from Mars and Women from Venus? We've just decided to
our very own version in newsprint.
FUTURE
As always and with any company
CEO or president will tell you that

BENCH WARMERS RAP AND RESPONSE
What is Bench Warmers Rap andResponse? The idea came from the 411
Sports Column Bench Warmer. The
Technical Definition of a Bench Warmer is
someone that is actually signed to a team
but never/rarely gets a chance to play in
the game. The other definition of a Bench
Warmer is a person that has really never
played the game (maybe in high school or
in college), but can analyze the game and
knows (or thinks he know) it inside and out;
basically fans and media. Think of Bench
Warmers rap and Response as barber shop
conversation, with a twist. This forum
consists of a panel of current and former
athletes, coaches, media, etc, who are put
together to debate current (and sometimes
controversial) sports topics, with fans or
Bench Warmers.
411 SPORTS RAP SYPOSIUM
The annual Sports Symposium will bring
sports executives from across the country
for a three-day stay. The Symposium will
champion the growing impact of sports in
the business world and the role of skilled
business professionals in the world of
sports. It will serve as an opportunity for
executives to share their thoughts on the
current and future business landscape
the sports industry and will help create
collaborative relationship with spo
management groups.
411 SPORTS GOLF TOURNAMENT
This Golf tournament will host a groupathletes from the old school and the n
school. It will be one of the few spo
events that displays the camarade
between athletes from all different a
different eras. We are also in the proce
of bringing in pro-am players for t
tournament. The proceeds will be given
the HBCU Scholarship Funds. Our Goa
to partner with Legendary NFL players
put on a star-studded event.

Such advertising to be published, invoiced and paid in accordance with Publication's Retail Rate in effect on date of publication.
Any rate adjustment will be made effective by giving 30 days written notice to contract advertisers.
In event of such rate revision, advertiser has the option of contract cancellation without rate penalty. (For the full amount of spa

All rates are net cash with order except where credit has been approved by the Finance Department. Where credit has been extend
invoices are payable on terms stipulated.
Publisher will invoice advertiser on a weekly basis. Accounts settled in full before the respective date due are entitled to the standa
industry discount. Accounts 61 days or more past due shall bear interest at the rate of 18 percent per annum.
It is expressly understood and agreed:
That the Publisher reserves the right to cancel advertising at any time without notice upon default by the advertiser in the paym
of invoices, or in the event of any persistent violations on the part of the advertiser of any of the conditions herein named, and up
such cancellation all advertising published thereunder and unpaid shall become immediately due and payable. Verbal changes or modifications on these conditions will not be recognized.

. This contract cannot be invalidated by wrong
insertions or omissions. In the event publication is
interrupted for any reason, or if advertising to be
published is omitted, the Publisher shall not be
held liable for failure to publish advertising.
. Claims of errors in invoices must be made within
thirty (30) days of date of invoice. Otherwise such
claims will not be considered.
. This contract is subject to rejection at option of
the Publisher unless a regular schedule of copy
has commenced within 60 days from the date
contract is accepted.
. This contract covers all advertising space used in
411 Sports as stated on the Retail Advertising
Rate Card.
. 411 Sports reserves the right to alter or reject any
copy, including that which is not in the bestinterest of its readers or public decency. All
contracts and orders are subject in all respects to
411 Sports rules and regulations on content of
advertising matters, make-up an availability of
advertising space.
. Orders containing a provision that advertising
shall not appear in proximity to, or the exclusion
of, other advertising cannot be accepted, 411
Sports advertising columns are open to the
competition of all legitimate advertisers.
Specifications on orders restricting the kinds of
news on any page are treated as requests only.
. If the advertiser at any time fails to furnish copy
and/or instructions for the regular and
uninterrupted insertion of the advertisements on a
contract for a specified number of insertions, it is
understood and agreed that the last copy
furnished, and the space therewith ordered, shall
be repeated until new order and copy are given.
Verbal orders or orders by telephone will be
accepted at advertiser's risk only.
mportant!All orders must state the specific space
desired, designating the width in columns and exact
depth in inches. 411 Sports will publish and invoice
he advertisement in exact space ordered, measuring
o nearest quarter inch, from cut-off rule. In the
bsence of cut-off rules, the advertisement will be
harged from top to bottom of printed page, (12.5nches in depth) and charged accordingly. No display
dvertisement is counted less than three-quarters
3/4) of an inch except as stated under special
lassifications. All tabloid page advertising over 10
nches in depth will be charged at established
omposition rates. All advertisements must be as
many inches deep as columns wide except as stated
n special classifications. Step-down or pyramid
dvertisements must occupy at least eighty (80)
ercent of the total column space determined by the
numbers of columns covered by the bottom of the
dvertisement.
9. Forwarding of an order will be construed as an
acceptance of all rates and conditions under which
advertising space is at the time sold by 411 Sports.
Failure to make the order correspond in rate,
otherwise, with the rate schedule in force will be
regarded as a clerical error, and publication will
be made and charged for upon terms of rate
schedule in force without further notification.
10. Any local, State, or Federal tax levied upon
advertising or other services will be added to
advertising charges.
11. In event of typographical error, advertising
goods or services less than the proper price,
Publisher will furnish letters to be posted in the
store stating correct price. Goods may not be
sold at incorrect price printed in the
advertisement with intent to charge the
difference to 411 Sports. The Publisher shall not
be liable for errors unless corrected proof is
returned by specified proof release deadline.Publisher's liability for an error shall not exceed
cost of space occupied by the error. Credit will
be allowed for first insertion only. Claims for
allowances for errors must be made within
fifteen (15) days of insertion. Notice of
typographical errors must be given in time for
correction before the second insertion; otherwise
no claim for repetition of error shall be allowed.
Allowance is not made for errors that do not
materially affect the value of the advertisement.
12. 411 Sports will not be responsible for errors
when correct proof of advertisement dose not
accompany insertion order or for insertion of
incorrect material supplied by another
newspaper or another outside source.
13. Publisher's established schedule of copy and
proof deadlines must be observed in order to
assure timely publication. No adjustment, refund
or reinsertion is allowed for errors in ads or ads
left out as a result of corrections furnished by
advertiser after specified proof release
deadlines. Only one proof service is furnished.
14. Advertiser agrees to assume sole responsibility
for statements contained in his copy and to
protect and indemnify 411 Sports against any
and all liability, loss or expense arising out of
claims for libel, unfair trade practices, unfair
competition, infringement of trademarks, names
or patents, copyrights and proprietary rights, andall violations of the right of privacy resulting
from the publication of the advertiser's copy by
411 Sports.
15. Orders requiring specific position or authorizing
insertions with the proviso "or omit" cannot be
accepted. Positions may be requested on any
page on which advertising is acceptable and will
be filled, if possible, depending upon editorial
make-up and advertising space requirements.
411 Sports will not honor claims for
adjustments, refund or reinsertion because of
position in which an advertisement has been
published.
16. There will be a monthly service charge for u
a newspaper office box number in
advertisements, regardless of the numb
insertions utilizing that particular number.
17. 411 Sports will not be responsible for pri
material left at its offices over ten (10) day
