Definition of a Prototype

A prototype is a physical sample piece of work that enables you to see how the finished product would look like.

Such a prototype does not function like an actual product yet but it is a representative piece to provide you the look and feel of the shape that you have conceptualized earlier.

Having a prototype is almost like having a finished product in your hand except that it can’t function.

Definition of a Working Model

A working model (or sometimes called a working unit) is the first sample unit that enables you to prove your concept (theory).

A working model is normally crude looking but what’s important is that you are able to see it worked according to what you have envisaged earlier

What is a patent…?

Patent gives you the rights over your ideas for 20 years.

The first person to file a patent

with the Patent Office is the rightful owner to that idea.

You do not need to have a working model or a prototype to file a patent. You can file a patent by just having an idea

Parting Words… To my mind, an invention is a

creative gift from an inventor to human race. Every inventor creates a new invention with the purpose of improving our life, preserve the environment and making this world a better place for all.

With this noble aspirations, let’s join hands and do our part to make this dream come true.
