Excel can be scary when you first start using it

But it doesn’t have to be that way…

Understand these basic concepts and Excel just might start to be your friend…maybe

The SHEETS are the tabs toward the bottom of the Excel window

Resize columns or rows by hovering your mouse between them, when you see the double arrow click and drag to the size you want.

Automatically resize to fit the widest content by DOUBLE –Clicking

You’ve probably already figured out that where a column and a row meet is called a cell

Tip 4. The mighty AUTOFILL HANDLE

The Autofill handle saves time by enabling you to copy contents as you drag the handle

Hover your mouse over the Autofill handle to get + cursor and then click and drag

This allows you to quickly copy content from one cell into others.

For example: Type the name of a month into a cell

Then click and drag the Auto-fill handle and watch Excel go!

Excel looks at the content and guesses how you’d like to fill the other cells.

If Excel’s guess is not what you wanted the Auto-fill options tab gives you more choices.

That’s it!

Start using these tips and you’ll be on your way to being a more productive Excel user
