According to the Office of Motor Vehicles, youmust do one of the following prior to or within10 days following the insurance cancellation date

to avoid penalties and reinstatement fees:

Surrender the vehicle license plate to any Officeof Motor Vehicles or by mail.Submit a completed Statement of Non-Use bymail or online.

You can surrender your license plate at any MotorVehicle Office. If you are planning to cancel theliability insurance on the vehicle, the license

plate must be surrendered before you cancel theinsurance.If your liability insurance cancels because youhave not paid your monthly premium, your insur-ance company will report this to the OMV. Thiswill result in a flag on your drivers license. Youwill not be able to renew your drivers license or

your license plate until the flag is cleared.

To clear a cancellation flag from your record youwill need one of the following within 10 days ofthe cancellation date:

New insurance information from a companyauthorized to do business in Louisiana.Turn in the license plate.Provide proof that the vehicle was sold, traded,junked, salvaged, totaled, repossessed, returned orregistered out of state.

If you can provide any of the above information,there will be no reinstatement fees. If the infor-mation is dated more than 10 days from the can-cellation date you will owe a reinstatement feeaccording to the schedule below. These fees areper vehicle.

Deciding to become a U.S. citizen can be oneof the most rewarding decisions in a personslife. Yet, to be eligible for naturalization you

must prove to United States Citizenship andImmigration Services (USCIS) that you are aperson of good moral character. You cannotestablish that you are a person of good moral

character if you have been convicted of murder,at any time, or of any other aggravated felony, ifyou were convicted on or after November 29,1990. The Application for Naturalization (FormN-400) asks several questions about your past.You should always be honest with USCIS aboutall arrests (even if you were not charged or con-victed); convictions (even if your record wascleared or expunged); crimes you have committed

for which you were not arrested or convicted; andany evidence in your favor concerning the cir-cumstances of your arrests, convictions or offens-es that you would like USCIS to consider.

If you have been arrested or convicted of a crime,you must send a certified copy of the arrestreport, court disposition, sentencing, and anyother relevant documents, including any counter-

vailing evidence concerning the circumstances ofyour arrest and/or conviction that you would likeUSCIS to consider. Note that unless a trafficincident was alcohol or drug related, you do notneed to submit documentation for traffic finesand incidents that did not involve an actualarrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than$500 and/or points on your drivers license.

Some examples of crimes that demonstrate a lackof good moral character are any crime against aperson with intent to harm, any crime againstproperty or the Government that involvesfraud or evil intent, two or more crimes forwhich the aggregate sentence was 5 years ormore, violating any controlled substance law,habitual drunkenness, illegal gambling, prostitu-tion, polygamy, lying to obtain immigration bene-fits, failing to pay court-ordered child support or

alimony payments, confinement in jail, prison,or similar institution for which the total confine-ment was 180 days or more during the past 5years, failing to complete any probation, parole,or suspended sentence, terrorist acts, persecutionof anyone because of their race, religion, nation-al origin, political opinion, or social group.

USCIS has the authority to ask about or investi-gate your activities during your entire life butthey will focus on your behavior and conductduring the five-year period immediately beforeyou file your application. It is important to knowthat USCIS will run background check on youbefore your interview. Honesty is very important.Even if you have only committed a minor crime,

USCIS may deny your application if you do notdisclose it to the USCIS officer. Also, if you donot tell the truth during your interview, USCIScan deny your application for lacking good moralcharacter. If USCIS grants you naturalizationand you are later found to have lied during yourinterview, your citizenship may be taken away.

If you have a "clean record" with no criminal

convictions and are generally a law-abiding mem-ber of your neighborhood, showing that you havegood moral character should not be hard. Thelack of a criminal record itself tends to show thatyou have good moral character. To help, though,you may want to get letters from people like yourneighbors, church pastor (or other religiousleader), and employer attesting to your goodcharacter. Also, showing the USCIS copies of

your tax returns will help show good character.

Please note that if you have committed certainserious crimes, USCIS may decide to remove youfrom the United States. Thus, if you have anydoubt as to whether you are eligible for natural-ization, you should consult with an immigrationattorney before applying.

Ingredientes:

2 tazas de harina para todo uso 1 cucharadita baking soda 1/4 cucharadita de sal 1/2 taza de mantequilla

3/4 taza de azcar [brown sugar] 2 huevos batidos 2 1/3 taza pur de bananos maduros

Indicaciones:

1. Precaliente el horno a 350 grados F (175 grados C). Engrase ligeramente una barra 9x5pulgadas.

2. En un tazn grande, combine la harina, el bicarbonato y la sal. En un recipiente aparte,bata la mantequilla y la azcar . Incorpore los huevos y el pur de bananos hasta que estn

bien mezclados. Revuelva la mezcla de bananos en la mezcla de harina, y mezclar slo parahumedecer.Mientras la mezcla en el pan de molde se preparado.

3. Hornee en horno precalentado durante 60 a 65 minutos, hasta que un palillo insertado enel centro del pan salga limpio. Deje enfriar el pan en el molde durante 10 minutos, luegogirar hacia fuera sobre una rejilla de alambre.

3/4 cup brown sugar 2 eggs, beaten

2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream togetherbutter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana

mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.

3. Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of theloaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
