A runner has a big responsibility as they have certain roles such as; looking after cast and crew, organising props, delivering technical equipment and also making sure everyone is hydrated and well fed. These roles have to be done rapidly in order to make sure the show is on schedule. For a runner you would have to have a lot of patience in case something goes wrong which is very likely to happen; if looking after the cast you have to make sure they at the right place at the right time such as hair and make-up if not then the show could over run over schedule. 2. Another job I would be interested in would be ITV insight which helps experienced or unexperienced individuals to learn new skills and more about the days of ITV. This can also help individuals who are looking to upgrade to a better job in the media industry in the future; such as myself. However, the opportunity is only aimed at 18 year olds and over so school leavers and first year college students wouldn’t be able to for this job. 3. Task 4- employment job roles in the media sector.

1. If I was to get a job in the Media Industry then I would like to start off with an easy job such as a runner for the BBC. A runner has a big responsibility as they have certain roles such as; looking after cast and crew, organising props, delivering technical equipment and also making sure everyone is hydrated and well fed. These roles have to be done rapidly in order to make sure the show is on schedule. For a runner you would have to have a lot of patience in case something goes wrong which is very likely to happen; if looking after the cast you have to make sure they at the right place at the right time such as hair and make-up

if not then the show could over run over schedule.

3. Another job role that interests me within the media sector is becoming a researcher for television programmes such as for documentaries or chat shows. A researcher develops programme ideas and has to have an understanding of certain requirements with in their research. They also have to write scripts for on screen presenters such as chat show host e.g. Jonathon Ross. They identify relevant data, contributors, locations or archive material, collating and assessing information from various sources, and ensuring that legal, compliance and copyright requirements are met. This role does not require a qualification however, a degree in a media related, drama or specialist subject may help you get the job as well someone who doesn’t but this may not always be the case.

4. Lastly, my biggest aspiration would be to become a journalist for a publishing company such as a magazine or newspaper company. Newspaper journalists investigate and write up stories for local, regional and national newspapers. To become a journalist you have to be persistent, determined and have an enquiring mind. Also, you must be able to enjoy researching and investigating for your story yourself. I would like to do this job because I would learn new skills

and I can express myself in my writing about a certain topic such as reality.
