PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

October already, the 4-H year is passing quickly! We are still holding several clubs and have some exciting events to look forward to. Several of our members will be taking part in the dairy and beef shows at the Royal Winter Fair, we extend our best wishes to them for a great show. For those not participating, if you are able to attend and show your support, I am sure they would appreciate it.

Please join us on November 18th for the achievement program of many of our life-style clubs. This is a time to see what the club members have accomplished and maybe learn more about clubs you are thinking you might want to join in the future.

We are all looking forward to our Awards Celebration which will be taking place on November 25th at the South Fred Hall. We have a lot to celebrate this year, a lot of accomplishments to be proud of and a lot of friends to share a great time with, see you there!

Scarecrow Festival

Thanks to everyone who came out to help at the Scarecrow Festival or donated baked goods for the sale. The weather was beautiful, we had many very hard-working volunteers and members helping, there was a great turnout, we could enjoy the live entertainment while we worked and the day was a fundraising success! We have heard many positive comments about 4-H involvement in the day from the organizers and the public. People really enjoyed the livestock shows, the bake sale, the pancake breakfast and the BBQ. There were two entries from clubs who painted scarecrows for this year and both came from the Leonhardt’s clubs of blacksmithing and health care. Congratulations on a job well-done, the scarecrows were amazing!

A special thank you to CAT Rentals who donated the use of their BBQ, to all our volunteers who worked so hard to make the day a success, to Roberta Green and her family for helping all day with the BBQ to Robyn Carefoot for selling lollipops, to Julia Blackett, Caitlyn McNichols, Dixon Jaynes and Noah Boutilier for their help with the animals and to “Princess” for making her donation to the Cow Patty Bingo. What a tremendous way to show how we pledge our hands to larger service, to our club and our community!
