All qualificaons are under the auspices of the American Rifleman Air Rifle, 10 meter, 3-posion course of fire. The American Rifleman qualificaon program is a progressive course of fire requiring shooters to meet naonally defined scoring criteria in each of the prone, kneeling, and standing posions. One Gray County 4-H Team Eagle shooter was presented with a

National Association qualification award earned during

November. All qualifications are under the auspices of the

American Rifleman Air Rifle, 10 meter, 3-position course of fire.

The American Rifleman qualification program is a progressive

course of fire requiring shooters to meet nationally defined

scoring criteria in each of the prone, kneeling, and standing

positions.

be verified by superintendent or advisor)

Show starts at 6:00 p.m. on January 19, 2017

SWINE: January 21, 2017

Weight Cards/Payment due no later than 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20 (must be

verified by superintendent or advisor)

Show starts at 9:00 a.m. on January 21, 2017

Please call Lynne Moore at 669-1466 to sign up for concessions as soon

as possible. Remember, ALL participating 4-H members must sign up to

work 4 hours of concessions total.

CLUB NEWS

Air rifle project will meet again beginning on Monday, January 9th at 6:30 at the bull

barns. There will NOT be a meeting on Monday, January 16th. Meetings will resume as

usual on Monday, January 23.

Air Rifle

The archery project will meet January 9th for a paperwork crash course at 6:00 p.m. We

will go over project record forms, points books and discuss record books. If parents can

plan on attending this meeting, both youth and parents will fully understand what is

expected. On January 23rd, the range will be set up again so come prepared to shoot!

Archery Project

Soaring Eagles 4-H Club

Soaring Eagles will meet at their regular time on

Friday, January 6th in the cafeteria of the school.

North Fork 4-H Club

North Fork will meet on Tuesday, January 10th at 6:30 at the Annex.

Clover Kids 4-H Club

Clover Kids will meet on Monday, January 9th at 5:30 at the

Bull Barn and will be talking about livestock and visiting the

pigs. We will meet at the Bull Barn located behind the Annex.

Lefor’s 4-H Club

Please contact Lefor’s leader Dana Davis to confirm date and

times for January meeting.

The dog project will meet Sunday, January 8th and Sunday, January 22 at 3:00. Time and

location TBA. If you have any questions please contact Joan at 662-7462. Also, dogs

MUST BE VALIDATED by Monday, January 9th. If you need assistance validating your

dog, let Joan know and she will be available on Thursday, January 5th at 6:30. Please let

her know if you are coming so that she may schedule accordingly.

PARENT/LEADER COUNCIL

Gray County 4-H Archery Project was selected by

the Safari Club International to have bows and

another supplies donated to on Monday,

December 12th. Many thanks to the Safari Club for

their very generous donations!

The members of the Gray County Archery

Project rounded up and donated many items

such as dog food, cat food and other

supplies to our local shelter as their

community service project for the month.

Salvation Army! Your community service is greatly appreciated by the many

families that you helped to raise money for throughout the holiday season!

Vet Science meetings have been tentatively set for every 3rd Thursday

of each month at 6:30. Please contact the project leader to verify times,

activities and location. January 19th is the next scheduled meeting

and will have Dr. Maria Wilson speaking about animal first aid.

The Photography Project will meet in Tuesday, January 10th at 6:00 p.m. at the Annex. . If you are new to 4-H and are interested in being a part of the photography project, please contact the office or the project leader Amanda Weaver at 806-231-6143

The Fort Worth Stock Show is right around the corner. Mike will be in contact with

each family to get prepared for the show and what days will need to plan on being

gone. Check for health requirements with the Fort Worth Stock Show.

Thank you to the 4-H members and all

parent volunteers who helped to make

the Christmas Party a success. We

collected plenty of socks to donate for

our soldiers who will greatly

appreciate your help!
