Concept of Logical Configuration
Logically, a project consists of many net elements. We can divide a project into various management blocks which can be called network block. Obviously, each network block consists of many net elements. But every network block at most manages 32 net elements. In other words, logical configuration describes the relation between project, network block and net element.

Concept of Physical Configuration
A network is constructed with many devices. Physical configuration describes the relation between various physical entities in the network, such as office, rack, frame, slot and single disc. It corresponds to logical configuration.

Concept of Structure Configuration
Management configuration determines network blocks and the management relation between them, while structure configuration is to describe the connection between the net elements of the network block, sketching the topological structure of the entire network block. For connection between net elements, there are optical connection and electrical (i.e. Ethernet) connection. Structure configuration is organized by connection. A connection is able to support 32 net elements at most.

Concept of Device Configuration
The configuration most directly related to devices is device
configuration. Device configuration is usually stored by net element,
including all configuration parameters of all circuit packs in the net
element, such as cross-configuration. In network block, device
configuration is not centrally stored on M, but in a distributive
manner. The device configuration of each net element is stored in
EEPROM of EMU panel of the net element and will not be lost even
when EMU panel is power-off. Configuration in EMU panel can be
read after being powered up and the net element will then be
initialized.
