How the ice maker works on a Dual evaporator bottom mount unit. The ice maker on the Dual evaporator bottom mount is very different than all other icemakers. This icemaker is run completely off the HV board. Here is some information on this ice maker. The fill time is for 7 seconds with 1.4 ounce (44cc) to 2 ounces (64cc). There is no adjustment for size. The HV board controls the fill of the icemaker NOT THE SMART VALVE. The ice maker mold holds about 3.3 ounces(100cc) OPERARTION When cooling begins the board looks at the thermistor on the icemaker to decide if the unit is cold enough to make ice. Once the thermistor decides it is cold enough the board will cycle the icemaker. When the ice maker motor turns and closes the HOME position switch (P7 pins 3 and 4) on the ice maker head this will tell the board to send voltage to open the valve for 7 seconds with a fill of 1.4 to 2 ounces. Once fill is complete the ice maker goes into a dead time for about 25 minutes. This allows the ice to freeze and also to help prevent double fills. Once the dead time is over the board will look at the thermistor on ice maker mold to see if the temperature is below 16 degrees. If it is then harvest is started. If thermistor is above 16 degrees the ice maker will not harvest at this time.
