among the techniques, philosophy or goals they have embraced. Art
movements have each thrived for a limited time — measured in a few
months, years or decades.
Pop Art
• With Pop Art, American mass culture was celebrated in recognizable images of everyday consumer products.
Cubism
• Cubism created the 1st abstract way to picture the world.
• Cubism dissected reality using multiple angles
Surrealism
• Surrealism sought to liberate art from reason by exploring the unconscious and depicting weird dream imagery.
Renaissance
• Fidelity to nature and the search for perfect form were the main goals of Renaissance artists. The main topic was religion. Greek art was copied.
