On behalf of the organising committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to partner with us for our inaugural Tri-Society Cardiac & Thoracic Symposium (3SCTS) “Back to the Future: Lessons from the Past, Prospects for the Future”, which will be held at the Cairns Convention Centre, Queensland, Australia, from 10 to 13 November 2021.

This will be a combined scientific meeting of three societies – the Australian & New Zealand Society of Cardiac & Thoracic Surgeons (ANZSCTS), the Cardiac Thoracic Vascular Perfusion Special Interest Group (CTVP SIG – ACE), and the Australian and New Zealand College of Perfusionists (ANZCP). In 2021 our Symposium will be held in conjunction with the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery 2021 (ISMICS) Workshop.

Our patients present with increasingly complex problems that require fully integrated team care involving many disciplines, including surgeons, anaesthetists, and perfusionists. The need for scientific understanding to support our practice continues to grow and innovative procedural solutions are part of our daily work. This Symposium will aim to bring these specialty disciplines together to improve care of our patients in 2021 and beyond.

A distinguished international and local faculty will be actively involved in all aspects of the program including:

• Multi-disciplinary panel discussions

• Workshops

• Simulations

• Hands-on wetlabs

The scientific program will be diverse and cater for all interests across the entire spectrum of contemporary Cardiothoracic practice. Combining with the ISMICS Workshop enhances this wonderful opportunity with colleagues from all over the world coming together to share their experience with new minimally invasive techniques and learn from each other in an open and inclusive forum.

The 3SCTS 2021 will, for the first time, provide everyone involved in the management and treatment of cardiac and thoracic patients the opportunity to come together, providing an unprecedented level of access to all of our Australasian colleagues and industry in the one place. 3SCTS 2021 will be an excellent forum for the exchange of views, shared experiences and the latest scientific knowledge; enriching collaboration between surgeons, anaesthetists, perfusionists, and industry as well as providing opportunities for networking and the building of relationships internationally.

The Symposium is being held in Cairns - the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and world heritage listed Daintree Rainforest. It is an ideal base to explore the natural beauty, islands and beaches of Tropical North Queensland.

The Australian and New Zealand College of Perfusionists (ANZCP) is the peak body representing Certified Perfusionists in Australia and New Zealand. It is a not-for-profit, member association committed to professionally supporting its members through serving as a regulatory body to promote and uphold standards, providing high quality education, training and on-going professional development. The ANZCP is a collaborative and inclusive College that aims to further the industry of perfusion, both nationally and internationally.

AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND SOCIETY OF CARDIAC AND THORACIC SURGEONS (ANZSCTS)

The Australian and New Zealand Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons was formed to serve the medicopolitical needs of cardiothoracic surgeons in Australia and New Zealand. It has amalgamated with the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery of the RACS. The Society plays an important role in the development of Cardiac Surgery services in Australia. The Society in conjunction with the Cardiac Society maintains the Journal, Heart Lung and Circulation.

CARDIAC THORACIC VASCULAR PERFUSION SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP (CTVP SIG)

The CTVP SIG is managed by the Anaesthesia Continuing Education (ACE) partnership, a tripartite body governed by the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), the Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA), and the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists (NZSA). ACE promotes and co-ordinates combined continuing medical education activities in anaesthesia and related disciplines. It manages 17 SIGs that allow anaesthetists and other medical specialists to study, report and develop educational events in specific areas of anaesthesia in which they have an interest or skills.ANZCA is the secretariat for the CTVP SIG and one of the largest specialist medical colleges in Australia and New Zealand. The college is the region’s foremost authority on anaesthesia, pain medicine and perioperative medicine.

INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR MINIMALLY INVASIVE CARDIOTHORACIC SURGERY (ISMICS)

The International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery was formed to organize and centralize the various surgical centers concerned with patient outcomes, techniques, and progressive development of less invasive forms of heart surgery. Formed on May 31, 1997 by the participants of the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery at the Palais Des Congres, Paris France, the new ISMICS is taking the leadership role in shaping the direction of less invasive cardiac surgery on a global basis. The founding membership includes representatives from all continents.

A tax invoice will be issued upon processing of this application form. Payment must be made within the payment terms specified on the tax invoice.

Applications are subject to Organising Committee approval. An application does not warrant immediate acceptance and applicants will be advised in writing or acceptance or otherwise.

Cancellations must be received in writing by the Symposium Organiser. Cancellations will not be refunded unless the sponsorship/exhibition booth is able to be resold.

TERMS AND CONDITIONSThe Sponsor and Exhibitor application to participate is an offer which is accepted by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) of the amount payable on making the application.

BOOKING CONDITIONSAcceptance of the application will be subject to the Organising Committee approval. The Committee reserves the right to decline applications based on any association, direct or indirect, that does not uphold the objectives of the symposium.

CANCELLATION POLICYIn the case of the cancellation of sponsorship, unless all sponsorship is resold, RACS will reserve the right to retain monies received.

In the case of the cancellation of a booth/s, please note that unless RACS is able to sell all space RACS reserves the right to retain all monies received.

If the balance of payment on the booth/s is not received within the trading terms the allocated booth/s will be cancelled.

ATTENDANCEThe Sponsors and Exhibitors understand that all company attendees must register officially.

GENERAL TERMSThe Sponsors and Exhibitors agree to be bound by the Exhibition General Terms and Conditions. Conditions set out in the “The Inaugural Tri-Society Cardiac & Thoracic Symposium (3SCTS) Sponsorship Prospectus” document, which is acknowledged as being received.

BOOTH ALLOCATIONThe exhibitor understands that booths will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment and that the Organising Committee’s decision will be final.

LIABILITY AND INSURANCEThe Exhibitor and the servants, agents and contractors of the exhibitor occupy and use the exhibition space/booth allotted under this exhibition contract and enter Cairns Convention Centre and act under or pursuant to this exhibition contract at their own risk.

The Exhibitor hereby indemnifies and releases the RACS (“the Organiser”), Cairns Convention Centre (“the Venue Manager”) and the exhibition contractor and each of them against all actions, suits, costs, claims and demands brought against the Organiser, and the Venue Manager by any natural person, firm or corporation for any damage or loss caused directly, or indirectly to, or suffered by any person, firm or corporation as a result of any act or default of the exhibitor or the servants, agents, contractors or invitees of the exhibitor or resulting directly or indirectly from the attendance of the exhibitor at the exhibition, including travel to and from such venues and without limiting the foregoing the Organiser and the Venue Manager or any of them shall not in any circumstances be liable for any loss damage or injury which may occur to the exhibitor or the servants, agents or contractors of the exhibitor or for any damage to their property including damage to exhibits, plant equipment, fixtures, fittings or other property whatsoever or for any loss of profits which they may suffer howsoever caused.

It is strongly advised that each Exhibitor seek to cover their equipment, exhibition and display material with adequate insurance and also effect public risk insurance at the expense of the Exhibitor.

IMPLIED WARRANTIESIn the event any statute implies any term condition or warranty into this agreement which cannot be lawfully excluded, such terms will apply to this agreement, save that the liability of the Organiser and each of them for breach of any such implied term will be limited, as the option of the Organiser, to any one of more of the following:

• The placement of goods to which the breach relates or supply of equivalent goods;

• The repair of such goods;

• The payment of the cost of replacing the goods or of acquiring equivalent goods, or

• The payment of the cost of having the goods repaired.

CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGEThe Organiser will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising out of a breach of this exhibition contract.

SECURITYThe Venue’s security includes closed circuit TV and access control systems. These systems provide fundamental perimeter security in the complex but beyond this, the Organiser, and the Venue Manager and their officers and employees, separately or collectively are not responsible for any damage to or for the loss or destruction of an exhibit, from fire or theft or accidents or injury resulting from such causes. Security staff dedicated to duty in your booth area can be engaged at the Exhibitor’s cost.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS AND REGULATIONSThe Exhibitor and the servants, agents, contractors and invitees of the Exhibitor are also to observe the conditions, rules, regulations and procedures as set out in the Exhibitors’ Manual of Cairns Convention Centre as revised and added to from time to time and which is available for inspection on request.

VARIATIONSThe Organiser may in the event of any circumstance which renders it necessary vary the booth or stand space allocation and the exhibitor will accept such re-allocation without any claim for a reduction in charges or otherwise.

UNAVOIDABLE OCCURRENCESIn the event that the exhibition is cancelled or delayed through no fault of the Organiser, the Venue Manager or the Sponsors/ Exhibitors including but not limited to fire, flood, labour disputes, natural disasters, acts of God, epidemics, pandemics, civil disorders, riots, insurrections, work stoppages, slowdowns or disputes, or other similar events then the exhibitor shall not be entitled to any refund or to claim for any loss or damage.

ASSIGNMENTS AND SUBLETTINGNo exhibitor shall assign, sublet or share the whole or any part of the space/pod allotted without the knowledge and consent of the Organiser.

HOURSThe Organiser shall determine the hours during which the exhibition shall be conducted and as to hours of access for exhibitors including variations of such times as shall be necessary.
