This message is sent by UE, if it cannot initiate a measurement as instructed by

UTRAN.

This message is used by UE to transfer measurement results to the UTRAN.

This message is used by UTRAN to assign, replace or release a set of physical

channels used by a UE.

This message is sent by UE if the configuration given by UTRAN is

unacceptable or if the UE failed to assign, replace

or release a set of physical channel(s).

This message is sent by UTRAN to setup, modify or release a measurement in the

UE.

This message is sent by UE, if it cannot initiate a measurement as instructed by

UTRAN.

This message is sent by UE when active set update has been completed.

This message is used for handover from UMTS to another system e.g. GSM. One

or several messages from the othersystem can be included in the Inter-RAT

message information element in this message. These messages are structured

and coded according to that systems specification.

This message is sent on the RRC connection used before the Inter-RAT Handover was executed. The message

indicatesthat the UE has failed to seize the new

channel in the other system.

In case of the synchronized handover, the MS sends up to four HND_ACC

messages to the BTS when receiving the HND_CMD (this applies to intra-BSC as

well). The data of a HND_ACC message is only one byte long and carries the

handover reference, that is, the temporary identifier of the MS.If the assignment procedure is used for the

intra-BTS handover, then sending of the HND_ACC messages is not necessary.

The MS confirms handover by sending of HND_COM . Only now, the MSC receives

the informationin a HND_PERF message that a handover

was performed by the BSS.This message is sent on the main DCCH from the mobile station to the network

to indicate that the mobilestation has established the main

signalling link successfully.

contain other information.

RRC-RNC Through C-RNTI or

URNTI

This message is used to page a UE in connected mode, when using the DCCH

for CN originated paging.

RRC Connection Request is the first message transmitted by the UE when setting up an RRC Connection to the

network

The network transmits this message when the requested RRC connection

cannot be accepted.

This message is used by the network to accept the establishment of an RRC

connection for a UE, including assignment of signalling link information,

transport channel information and optionally physical channel information.

This message confirms the establishment of the RRC Connection by the UE.
