123 Cherry ST, Apt 123, College Station, TX, 77840 Jan 29th 2018 Dear Mr.Kapoor, I came to know about the internship opportunity via an email forwarded my graduate advisor. From my research, I have come across the high inter-disciplinary collaboration and a unique flat organizational structure at your company. I would be elated to be a part of the diverse and passionate Tesla family and work for fulfilling the vision of the world’s most revolutionary company. I have three years of work experience in new product introduction and process engineering, working for setup of multiple supply chain configurations for new products and executing numerous process improvement initiatives. The highlight of my career has been the set-up of a new multipurpose café chair range having a volume of 60000 seats/annum. The opportunity to chalk out and establish a production line from scratch helped me to develop my technical aptitude across Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Strategic Procurement functions. It also gave me the opportunity to showcase my team-building skills and leadership abilities while working in and leading diverse cross-functional teams. I believe that these experiences in the entrepreneurial setting of a product development environment can act as a catalyst while executing the challenging responsibilities of a Supplier Industrialization Intern at Tesla. Consequently, I also had the opportunity to develop part, process and product development plans, define tooling requirements, design and balance production lines, optimize inventory levels, and calculate man-days and factory cost for new products which gave me an insight into the technical and commercial side of the product lifecycle. Please refer my resume for additional information on my work experiences, education and skills. I am currently pursuing advanced courses in Industrial engineering and have completed courses in Lean manufacturing and Advanced Quality Control which have significantly contributed to my knowledge in Lean process design and use of statistics for predictive and adaptive modelling of quality control plans. In this semester, I have taken up courses in Smart Manufacturing, Engineering data analysis, and Production planning and control which, I believe, will aid me in improving my abilities in use of statistics and data for advanced process and quality monitoring. I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of Tesla to make a positive contribution by developing products that will aid in the creation of a better future. At your convenience, I would be happy to discuss my qualifications and experiences that I can bring to your organization. I am looking forward to talking to you and appreciate your consideration.
