AH Deptt organises series of FMD awareness camps STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: The Department of Animal Husbandry organized a series of awareness camps under Foot and Mouth Disease Control Programme (FMD-CP) here. The camps were held at Chanderbani, Kuntwara, Karthie, Padder, Padyarna, Nagseni, Mughalmaidan, Bandarna, Chingam, and Chhatroo areas of the district. During the camps, the Officers of the Department dis- seminated information to the farmers about the causes, symp- toms, precautions against the disease in the cattle. The public of the area along with local representatives were urged to cooperate with the field staff in getting their livestock vaccinated against the disease. Animal breeders were informed that the second phase of FMD vaccination shall be conducted after six months of the first vaccination. STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: Indian Army conducted a 10 days longRecruitment Rally at Surankote from March, 11 to 20 2019at Poonch District. The recruitment was conducted to recruitsoldiers for different categories to include clerks, general dutyand tradesman etc. Approximately 11,000 candidates fromPoonch, Rajouri, Sunderbani and Akhnoor districts partici-pated in the rally. 198 candidates have been selected for writ-ten examination which is scheduled to be conducted on 7 April19. Despite inclement weather condition and security situa-tion in the region for past month, the youth turned up in largenumbers for the recruitment. The enthusiasm and spirit ofthe candidates reflected their desire for personal progressionwhile having faith in the governance.
