Protecting whistleblowers in
IndiaThere are no legislations to protect whistleblowers
in India. During the past decade, the Indian
corporate sector faced a lot of fiddles, fraud,cons and corruptions.
Enactment of a Whistleblowers Protection Act is
necessary for India as it can be a potent tool for
promoting good governance.

• Make sure that the allegation is correct.
• Keep careful records of what has been observed
and attempt made to rectify it.• Conduct research on whether or not the state
provides protection for whistleblowers.
• Be realistic about future. Talk to the family and beprepared for the worst case scenerio which can
include loss of job, financial, hardship, etc.
