ADORERS NEEDEDADORERS NEEDED

Summer is here, and it’s time to thank all of our steadfast

Eucharistic Adorers for their regular attendance. However, due to

personal schedule changes, vacations, etc., we are in need of a few

more committed adorers for some hours on Friday afternoons. If

you are able to come and stay for any one hour period between

noon and 8 P.M. we need you.

Remember, our Lord is ever present and waiting to see who will sit

with Him for an hour of peace and tranquility away from our busy

world.

If you can help, please contact either:

Judy Wilford @ 514-0012 or Bud Hoppe @ 562-2542

ROMAN MISSAL – 3RD EDITION

The words we say & hear at Mass will be

changing the First Sunday of Advent –

November 27, 2011.

Penitential Act

There are 3 options for the Penitential Act –

the third being the most common (Priestly

invocations; our responses will remain the

same: “Lord, have mercy/Christ, have mercy/Lord, have mercy).

The next most common form is known as the Confiteor and it will

change (the changes are in bold):

I confess to almighty God

and to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have greatly sinned

in my thoughts and in my words,

in what I have done and in what I have

failed to do,

through my fault, through my fault,

through my most grievous fault;

therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,

all the Angels and Saints,

and you, my brothers and sisters,

to pray for me to the Lord our God.

We will strike our breast when we say “through my fault, through

my fault, through my most grievous fault.” While doing this may

make it look as though we are a lot more sinful now than we used

to be, the real guiding principle here is the closer adherence to the

words in Latin.

Day of Prayer and Fasting

The Response: Answering a Call for Prayer for Our Nation - Saturday,

Aug. 6th has been proclaimed as a Day of Prayer and Fasting to seek

God’s guidance and wisdom in addressing the challenges that face our

communities, states and nation. As a nation, we must come together, call

upon Jesus to guide us through unprecedented struggles, and thank Him for

the blessings of freedom we so richly enjoy according to His grace, mercy,

and kindness toward us. Thousands will be gathering in Reliant Stadium in

Houston on that day (www.theresponseusa.com) , and we will be joining

locally at 9:00 AM Blessed Sacrament Church to call on Him with one

voice, one heart, and a unified desire to see great blessing and great glory

come to our nation again.
