• Autocratic:• Relating to a ruler who hasabsolute power

• Stopped all reforms in Russia.• Labeled many as “dangerous”

• (anyone who questioned his authority, worshipped outside Roman Orthodox Church, or spoke a language other than Russian)

• Censored documents & letters.• Secret police force spied in schools.• Political prisoners sent to Siberia.• Oppressed other national groups.• Made Russian official language & forbade any others.• Violence against Jews in Russia.
