From the Pastor The old year has passed and a new year has started. As I look back there have been some diffi-cult times in our lives and there have been some great blessings. I don’t know what the new year has in store but the exciting thing is that God promises to walk with us step by step. Therefore, I can look forward to whatever the new year holds because God will help me through it regardless. One thing I am excited about is we are now fully staffed. I am excited about our pastoral team
that will lead our church this com-ing year. Let me encourage you to join us for our “Prayer Visitation” on Sun-day, January 8. This will be a time we will try to get into every home of our church members and just pray for whatever needs they have. In order to do this we need a great number of people to go out. Come and join us Sunday at 2:30 p.m. We will go out to pray from 3-6. I believe in prayer. I can’t think of a better way to start the new year than praying with
every member. Come and join us this Sunday afternoon. Let me say again thank you for all the cards and gifts over the Christmas season. Beverly and I love and appreciate each one of you. Pray for our staff this coming year as we seek to lead our church in the direction God wants. —Bro. Doug

Looking Forward to Ministry Through Our Connection Groups in 2017! As we begin the new calendar year, it is a good time to review how we have been doing in reach-ing, teaching and ministering to people through our connection groups! It is also a great time to set some goals or habits for the remaining eight months of the Connection Hour year. Here’s some possibilities for you and your leaders or members of your group to think about: Evaluate your preparation for each week and make changes as needed Evaluate your communication with other leaders within your department and make changes
as needed! Set a goal for your group to make a certain number of contacts each week Evaluate your outreach to prospects and make changes as needed in what you do!
Resume January 22! All activities at 5 p.m.!
Watch for more information coming soon!
Final Total for 2016: $22,644

—The MacMillans & Schettlers (Family of Anita MacMillan)
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 One of the biggest challenges many churches face is the disciple making process. Everyone has ideas for what the church needs to do to grow, whether it be a knock out Sunday sermon, a great worship band, or a new exciting outreach program. What's amazing is Jesus never mentioned any of that. His focus was 11 guys who truly believed He was the resurrected Lord of the universe. His process was each of His followers investing in 1 person at a time. Can I tell you nothing has changed. What if every person made a goal this year of making 1 disciple and was sold out to achiev-ing it. Now imagine if that disciple learned how to do the same and then replicated that process the follow-ing year. Why not make a life long resolution that has eternal impact and reward! Share your story, and share your hope with someone. Invest in someone's life that they may come to know Christ, and if they do, devote yourself to them for the next 6 months to a year teaching them to replicate the process!

New Precept Class Begins January 19! 6:30 p.m., Fellowship Hall
Deadline to register: January 12 Jeremiah, a prophet appointed by God, spoke a hard message to the people of his day. It’s still God’s mes-
sage today — a call to listen to His Word. Heeding Jeremiah’s message can bring healing and hope to all. The class will meet on Thursdays for nine sessions. Cost of the materials is $20.25. To order book: call Rick or Julie Young at 580-695-8792 or email at [email protected]
