Dear brother We are very close to the feast of Pentecost. I would like to invite all young people of all ages to participate in the Youth Pentecost Vigil Celebration, Friday June 6th from 6pm to 10pm. There will be a concert, different topics and more, Invite a friend or a few friends!

We are celebrating the sixth Sunday of Easter, celebration of the Ascension of Jesus into heaven. This practice was known in the Church of Jerusalem at the end of the fourth century. In the afternoon, on the day of Pentecost, the faithful would gather at the Mount of Olives where in a small chapel, the Ascension of the Lord is remembered with passages of the Sacred Scriptures referents were read to the event, and also sung antiphons hymns.

The meeting of the Lord with the eleven is a short story. It is intended to express the characteristics of the Church's faith: faith in the supremacy of Christ and to its mission. He is the Son of man who was given the power, the glory and kingdom. The faith we are called to proclaim to the ends of the earth, not just to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Jesus gives us the authority to go to baptize in the "Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit " which implies a consecration to the Holy Trinity. As a domestic church, the family, we are called to baptize our children and live our baptism day to day. Many times we do not know what Christ has commanded us, for example: “what God has joined together, let no man separate”, “you cannot serve God and money”, “to forgive 70 times 7”.... Other of the time because, we know that as parents, you are the first educators in faith and do not deliver. Other more believe that it is up to the catechist to educate our children.

Today the day of the Ascension, the day to Remember the part of the mission of the universal Church that God has entrusted to the domestic church, or to the family, because if we don’t do it, no one will. Amen Fr. Jesus Jose

Queridos hermanos:

Estamos muy proximo por celebrar la Fiesta de Pentecostes este Domingo proximo. Les invito a todos los jovenes de cualquier edad a participar de la Vigilia Juvenil de la Celebracion de Pentecostes. Se llevara el Viernes 6 de Junio de 6pm a 10pm. Habra concierto de musica, temas y mucho mas, Invita a un amigo o amiga!

Estamos celebrando el sexton domingo de Pascua, dia de la celebracion de la Ascension de Jesus a los cielos. Esta practica se conocia en la Iglesia de Jerusalen ya al finales del siglo IV. En el dia de Pentecostes, por la tarde, los fieles se reunian en el Monte de los Olivos donde en una pequena capilla, se recordaba la Acension del Senor, se leian los pasajes de la Sagrada Escritura referents al evento, tambien se cantaban antifonas e himnos.

El encuentro del Senor con los once es un relato breve, tiene la finalidad de expresar las caracteristicas de la fe de la Iglesia: fe en la supremacia de Cristo y ala mission. El es el Hijo del hombre a quien fue dado el poder, la Gloria y el reino. La Fe que estamos llamados a anunciar a todos los confines de la tierra, no solo alas ovejas perdidad de la casa de Israel. Jesus nos da la autoridad de ir a bautisar en el “Nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espiritu Santo” que implica una consagracion ala Santa Trinidad. Como Iglesia domestica, la familia, estamos llamados a bautizar a nuestros hijos y vivir el bautismo dia a dia. Muchas veces no sabemos bien que es lo que Cristo nos ha mandado, por ejemplo, lo que Dios a unido, que no lo separe el hombre o lo que no se puede servir a Dios y al dinero, o lo que hay que perdonar 70 veces 7…. Otras de las veces porque lo sabemos como padres que somos los primeros educadores en la fe y no lo cumplimos. Otras mas creemos que le toca al catequista o ala iglesia ala escuela de educar a nuestros hijos. Hoy dia de la Ascension, dia para recorder la parte de la mision de la Iglesia universal que Dios le ha confiadoala Iglesia domestica, es decir ala familia, porque si no lo hacemos, no lo va a hacer nadien. Seventh Sunday of Easter June 1st, 2014

Altar Servers are needed for the English masses held on Saturdays at 5pm and Sundays at 7:30 and 9:30 am. Parents please encourage your

children that are 10 years old, have completed 5th grade and have their Sacraments to become a member of the SVDP community by serving the Lord as an Altar Server. Their service relies on your commitment to bring them and encouragement to serve the Lord. Altar Server training will be held on Saturday June 14th in the Church from 11am to 12:30pm.
