The gateway installation will empower and revitalise its identity as a vibrant and richly infused municipality. Wynd-

ham city will be transformed into a place-making municipality acting as the heart of Western Melbourne ex-panding to Greater Melbourne. The

extension from a central node behaves as an organism evolving into a larger,

more organized system of smaller components.

We explored the notion of deteriora-tion over time with regards to the

ever changing nature of Wyndham city and ensure that with the high speed

movement of traffic along the Princes Freeway, the installation will be an

outstanding icon of the municipality. Materials incorporated into the gate-way installation are basalt rock, con-

crete, galvanised steel and woodwhich represent the different aspects of Wyndham city. Assembling and or-ganizing these microstructures will produce a larger system, the city of

Wyndham.

The gateway will portray Wyndham city’s endeavour to be a top-notch,

modern municipality worthy of recog-nition in Melbourne whilst furthering

the discourse in architecture.
