Monday 6/19 | Hello, Campers! The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad is thrilled to welcome its first group of summer campers to the Village for 2017! We’ll meet our incoming first-graders, greet out-of-town friends, and play ice-breaking games as we get to know one another!

Tuesday 6/20 | Field Trip: Boomers! The Club is gonna make some noise at this fun Vista spot! Campers can play mini golf and laser tag and will receive a Game Card for the arcade as well as tickets for two rides! There’s a Johnny Rockets inside Boomers, too, if you’d like to buy a treat!

Wednesday 6/21 | Crazy Socks! What’s your wildest pair? Put ’em on and show ’em off! Is anybody daring enough to … mismatch their silly socks?! Dark blue on the left, hot pink on the right? Skateboards on the left, pineapples on the right? Superman on the left, Batman on the right? What?!?!

Thursday 6/22 | Field Trip: Belmont Park Each camper will receive an unlimited-ride wristband so that they can hit their favorite rides, like Vertical Plunge, Tilt-a-Whirl, and Krazy Kars! A few spots, like Arcade, Tiki Town Adventure Golf, and concession areas, require extra cash.

Friday 6/23 | Luau! Grab a hula skirt and lei and get ready to do the hula dance! Campers will get a little dose of Hawaii, with activities, props, and treats prepared especially for the occasion! Will someone please play the ukulele for us?!

Monday 6/26 | Science! Robots. Slime. Space. Bugs. Weather. Sharks. Rocks. What do these things have in common? We know so much about them thanks to science! And on this day, we’re going to enjoy some of the endless wonders science has brought us!

Tuesday 6/27 | Field Trip: Movies at Regal Cinemas Carlsbad Campers will choose from one of a couple of hit summer films! Of course, kids are welcome to purchase staples like popcorn, nachos, and soft drinks at the concession stand. Enjoy the show!

Wednesday 6/28 | Hats! Grab your favorite head-topper before you head out the door! A baseball cap or beanie will do the trick! What about a party hat, sun hat, or cowboy hat? Show us your style! Will any of our campers sport a Kentucky Derby or fancy top hat?

Thursday 6/29 | Field Trip: San Diego Zoo The flamingos are always ready to greet visitors to one of SD’s greatest attractions! Which critters are your favorites? Reptiles and amphibians? Pandas and polar bears? Birds or monkeys? So many exotic animals to see … so little time!

Friday 6/30 | Blast from the Past! Remember those favorites from yesteryear? Here’s our chance to celebrate how much fun they are! Forgotten songs and movies, games and gadgets from the good ol’ days, old-school sayings and fashion statements. … We’re gonna have a good ol’ time!

Monday 7/3 | Glow in the Daytime! Aren’t we all a little jealous of lightning bugs? Except that they come out only at night! Kids will light up when they see all the fun stuff the Club has planned for today. It’s safe to say that glow sticks will be involved!

Tuesday 7/4 | Independence Day No Camp—Happy Fourth! “Oh say can you see” fireworks? Please enjoy the holiday safely!

Wednesday 7/5 | Field Trip: Alga Norte Aquatic Center The Club has reserved a large pavilion and, more importantly, a block of time at this large, outdoor public pool. Kids can doggie paddle, swim laps, splash, and do cannonballs! Changing facilities and a concession stand are available.

Thursday 7/6 | Field Trip: Pirate’s Dinner Adventure Nobody makes our kids walk the plank! This high-seas dinner theater, in the spirit of Medieval Times, promises “amazing swordplay, aerial artistry, and acrobatics” on a pirate ship! While we watch, we’ll enjoy a captain’s feast featuring chicken nuggets!

Friday 7/7 | American Idol! At the Club, we understand that few people have had a real chance to enjoy our campers’ singing voices. We’re not here just to right a wrong, of course … kids are going to have a lot of fun belting out those tunes! If you want to sing out, sing out!

Monday 7/10 | Teamwork! Each kid is valuable! Some things are difficult to do alone, though. Campers will play games and do exercises that help them learn how to work well with others. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Tuesday 7/11 | Field Trip: Invasion Laser Tag Let’s take Capture the Flag to the next level! Campers will step into a high-tech, space-themed arena that brings multi-player video game battles to life. We’ll play as many games as we can during our stay! Concessions are also available.

Wednesday 7/12 | Sports Jerseys! Do you root for a college crew or pro squad? Have a preferred player? Wait, do you play on a team or know someone who does? The Club encourages kids to put their team spirit on display on this day! Yay!

Thursday 7/13 | Field Trip: John’s Incredible Pizza All-you-can-eat buffet? Tons of arcade games? Yes! Campers will take the Eat & Play Tour: They’ll go behind the scenes, make their own pizzas, and receive a FunCard ($5 in credits, 1 ride)! They might want to skip a meal—or three—before we go.

Friday 7/14 | Olympics! Many of the best athletes in the world gather every four years to compete against one another. Some of the best campers in the world gather in the Village to learn about Olympic Games feats---as well as achieve their own! Let the games begin!

Monday 7/17 | Adventure! Let’s venture into the unknown! Excitement awaits whenever Club campers take a trip together to explore the wonders of the mysterious and unfamiliar. Our adventures are safe—we’re just daring enough to step outside our comfort zones!

Tuesday 7/18 | Field Trip: Balboa Park & Museums The Club is headed to San Diego’s hub of wonder and excitement! We’re scheduled to ride the super Balboa Park Miniature Train, and campers may visit some of the area’s coolest museums! Concessions are available throughout the park and museums.

Wednesday 7/19 | Superheroes! What time do Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Storm, Black Widow, and Iron Man arrive? You tell us! Our campers are already super and heroes. On this day, they don’t have to keep their identities a secret!

Thursday 7/20 | Field Trip: LEGOLAND Off we go to one of the country’s coolest destinations for kids! Who’s ready to explore LEGO NINJAGO World? The theme park’s LEGO Star Wars space in Miniland USA is far out—one model is 16 feet long! So much to build, and so little time!

Friday 7/21 | Christmas in July! No matter what you celebrate, everyone is welcome to our midsummer holiday festivities! Club campers will get into the spirit of celebration and giving. And don’t forget the fun! Heck, it wouldn’t hurt to have Christmas every day, would it?

Tuesday 7/25 | Field Trip: The Wave Waterpark Don’t forget your swimsuit and towel! Options for campers include sailing down the Slide Tower and Rip Tide Slide and floating down El Rio Loco at this local aquatic attraction. Concessions and backpack lockers are available.

Wednesday 7/26 | Crazy Hair! How will you wear your mop today? Mohawk, pigtails, buns, Afro? Do you straighten it, or do you curl it? Wait, do you even bother to brush or comb it?! We can’t tell! Campers are encouraged to let their hair down. We love those locks!

Thursday 7/27 | Field Trip: Skateworld San Diego We’re going to a roller-skating jam! The DJ will spin the campers’ favorite hits while they cruise around the rink and play games put on by our host. Skate rental is included, and concessions are available. Please note: The Club advises crew-length socks.

Friday 7/28 | Disco! Throw on your bell-bottom pants and butterfly-collar shirts, because we’re gonna get down today! The Club is buffing the dance floor and shining the disco ball. You’re so excited? You just can’t hide it? That’s the way—uh-huh, uh-huh—we like it!

Thursday 8/3 | Field Trip: Medieval Times Six of the bravest, most chivalrous in all the land compete in games of skill before they ride their trusty steeds into battle, jousting and sword-fighting and competing for the fair princess’s favor! Meanwhile, campers chow down on a meal fit for kings and queens!

Friday 8/4 | Talent Show! What’s your secret skill? Wait, don’t we know you? Yeah, Club camper, you’re famous! Share your gift for song, dance, comedy, acrobatics, magic, poetry, or anything else you enjoy. The Boys & Girls Club’s got talent!

Tuesday 8/8 | Field Trip: Camp Pendleton Playland You better be ready to play! Playland is home to nine bounce houses, each with a different theme! It also has a video game trailer, Laser Tag Galaxy, a Nerf Wars arena, ziplines, and the Coconut Tree Climb (rock climbing for kids)!

Wednesday 8/9 | Inside Out! Turn those shirts, pants, socks, and … hats? … inside out! Don’t worry, campers. The Club isn’t asking you to do laundry. We just want you to change it up! Does it count if your shirt is reversible? Major bonus points if you can do it to your shoes!

Thursday 8/10 | Field Trip: Nickel City Fun Center Campers receive a bag of nickels to pop into the more than 100 video games and other fun pastimes here! Rack up tickets and cash them in for prizes! Concessions are available at the Nickel City café. And classic arcade games are free!

Friday 8/11 | Splash! Splish, splash, I was soaked in a flash … long about a Friday afternoon. Here we go, to the patio … I don’t wanna leave any time soon! Campers should wear clothing they’re okay with getting a little wet. And they should definitely splash water on the staff!

Tuesday 8/15 | Field Trip: Sky Zone* (Waiver: paper; online) Club campers will bounce on over to this trampoline park in San Marcos! Kids can flip in the Freestyle Jump area, dive in the Foam Zone, or play on the Ultimate Dodgeball court! SkySocks are included. Concession stand and arcade games are also available.

Wednesday 8/16 | Boys & Girls Club! Every day, Club members live it and feel it: BE GREAT! Today, we’ll celebrate a place where young people like you feel welcome, happy, and inspired. Safety is a must. And the fun is always on! Great futures start here.

Thursday 8/17 | Field Trip: Coaster to Old Town The Club will venture to the “Birthplace of California” to check out the San Diego Sheriff’s Museum and many other neat places! We’ll color our very own candles, too! Gift and food (warning: candy!) shops abound in Old Town.

Friday 8/18 | Carnival! The traveling show is in town, and it’s stopping at the Boys & Girls Club! Exciting games, thrilling acts, and yummy treats make a great carnival. Campers may win prizes, be amazed, and … just maybe … have their chance to wow the crowd!

Tuesday 8/22 | Field Trip: Dave & Buster’s We have a date with Dave & Buster in The Shoppes at Carlsbad! Campers can chow down on mini burgers, chicken bites, and pizza bites; mac & cheese; and French fries! Each kid receives a $20 Power Card, and video game time is unlimited!

Wednesday 8/23 | Pajamas! Wake up, sleepyheads! It’s time to go to camp! But don’t worry … you don’t have to change into your clothes! Leave the suit, dress, uniform, and camp gear at home. Today, we’re maxin’ and relaxin’ in our sleepwear!

Thursday 8/24 | Field Trip: Discovery Cube The Club is headed to Orange County to visit this home wonder and amazement! We’ll check out the Doc McStuffins exhibit, Mission Control, the Water Gallery, and loads more hands-on attractions! Concessions and gift shops are available.

Friday 8/25 | Goodbye BBQ! A most incredible summer is nearing its end. But don’t be sad! The Club is throwing a par-tay! We’ll play games, enjoy laughs, and share memories! On the menu: classic grilled foods, snacks, and sweets! We don’t leave until all bellies—and hearts—are full.
