KPS will be hosting a Bunnings BBQ on Sunday October
13th. We would like as many parents as possible to
volunteer their time, as these BBQs are great fundraisers
and even an hour of your time would be greatly
appreciated. More details to follow as we get closer to
the event.
Thank you.

Long Service Leave
I will be taking Long Service Leave between 9th -20th
September. It will be an opportunity for me to have a rest
and spend some time with my family. I will be celebrating
my 20th Wedding anniversary in Tasmania with Mr Keating
and hopefully enjoying the great food and drink Tassie has
to offer.
During my absence Mrs Bronwyn Hocking will be taking my
place as Acting Principal. I know you will give her your
support as much as you do for me during this time. I thank
Mrs Hocking for stepping in and stepping up to this
challenging but rewarding role. If you have any concerns or
queries during my absence, please don’t hesitate to contact
Mrs Hocking in the office.
Kind regards,
Deb Keating

Principals Report
Hello everyone,
It is indeed a very special weekend coming, with the long
awaited wedding of Miss Pascoe on Saturday and of
course Father’s Day, where we spoil all the Father figures
in our lives.
Swimming begins!
Our annual swimming program started this week and has
been a great beginning, with our new venue, Eltham
Leisure Centre. It is a far better facility with modern
equipment and easier change rooms. The students and
teachers have definitely given it the thumbs up! The
quality of the teaching program is much improved and
the indoor surrounds makes it just that bit more
comfortable for everyone. The extra bit of water play
time is also a winner!
Hooptime
Today our Grade 5-6 students headed off to compete in
the annual basketball Hooptime program. We wish them
luck and thank Mrs Stott and Ms Ball for coaching. Stay
tuned to the Facebook page for information and progress
updates!
Camp 2019 and 2020
Sovereign Hill camp 2019 will come up quickly being the
first week back in term 4. Please ensure all payments for
camp have been finalised asap, all medical forms for
camp have been returned for every student and students
have their shoes and socks in a labelled plastic bag as
soon as possible. The more time we have to look at the
information on the medical forms, the more we can
prepare to ensure your child’s needs are met and are
comfortable.
For those parents who know they will have student(s)
attending camp in 2020, we are due to go to Canberra.
The cost of this year’s camp was cheaper, as we knew the
cost of Canberra is high. Canberra Camp 2020 will cost
$520.00 per student. We hope that letting parents
know almost 12 months out will help with ensuring
saving plans or regular payment plans so that the cost is
not a surprise in term 3 2020. We always suggest parents
pay regular payments to cover camp over the year. The
school gives parents over 9 months notice (fees are on
the school invoices from first day of school each year) to
ensure it is not left to the last minute to pay. We highly
encourage parents to take advantage of the 12 months
notice and when possible begin making payments.
Hi All thank you for your support with our Chocolate
drive. If you feel you can sell another box of chocolates
feel free to see Di in the office.
Thank you to all the Families who have paid, but
some are still outstanding. Please ensure payment is
finalised as soon as possible. Thank you.

Penguin Jumpers!
Phillip Island Nature Parks are looking for jumpers to help rehabilitate penguins after oil spills. If any
parent would like to run a knitting club during lunch to create some of these jumpers please see _____
Patterns need to be very specific to be accepted and you can find the pattern here https://
