Standard scope

Engine: Cummins® ‘S s eries’ d iesel generating s ets, pow ered

by Cummins ® ‘S s eries’ eng ines, a re rated at 1500 RPM and

co nform to IS O 8528 sp ecifica tions . The eng ines are rad ia tor

cooled, four stroke and multi-cylinder, conforming to BS

5514 /ISO 3046.

Alternator: Sta mford alternator from C ummins Generator

Techno log ies , s uita ble for ope ration a t 1500 RP M, 415 Volts,

0.8 pf (lag) suitable for 50 Hz, 3 phase, 4 wire system,

co nforming to B S 5000 /IS 4722. The Alternator is b rushles s

type, screen protected, revolving field, self excited,

se lf regulated through a n AVR. The a lternato r has the follow ing

features:

- + 1.0 % Voltag e regulation (ma x.) in sta tic c ond itions

- IP: 23 protection with insulation class H

- P ermiss ible overloa d o f 10% for one ho ur in 12 hours o foperation

Mounting arrangement: Engine a nd a lternato r are mounted

on a commo n MS fabrica ted ba se frame w ith AVM pads .

Control panel: The c ontro l pa nel is ma nufa ct ured w ith 14/16

gauge CRCA sheet and is powder coated for a weather-proof

and long las ting finish. The co ntrol pa nel cons ists of the

following parts:

- PCC 0301 - Keyswitch /Autostart Generator Set Controller

- Multifunction meter displaying the b elow pa rameters :

- Voltage

- Current- Frequency

- Wa ter temp era ture

- MCCB of suitable rating with overload and short circuit

protection

- Current transformers

- Aluminum busbars of suitable capacity with incoming and out

go ing termina tion

- Indica ting lamps for “Load On” a nd “S et Running”

- Instrument fuses duly wired and ferruled

PCC 0301: Genset controller

The P ow erComm and ™ (0301) co ntrol is a

microprocessor- based generator set

monitoring and control system mounted in

the Ge nset C ontrol P a nel. The co ntrol

pro vides a simple operator interface to

the generator set, manual and remote

sta rt/sto p co ntrol, shutdo wn fa ult indica tion, a nd a n LCD hour

co unter. The integration o f a ll functions into a single co ntrol

system provides enhanced reliability and performance

compa red to c onventional generator set control sys tems.

Control system: The sta nda rd control sys tem includes a ll the

functions neces sa ry to loca lly or remotely sta rt and s top a nd

protect the generator set.

- Key switch – OFF a nd MANUAL/AUTO - In the OFF mo de , the

generator set is immediately shut down (if running) and cannot

be sta rted. It also resets a ny faults. In this mode, all pow er is

remo ved from th e c ontro l and its o utputs . In MANUAL/AUTO

mode, the co ntrol is pow ered. The ma nual start pushbutton a nd

remote s tart input become enab led.

- Manual start button – This butto n will initiate a ge ns et s ta rt

se q uenc e w hen the co ntrol is in MANUAL/AUTO mo de . This

button is locked out when the engine is running.

Acoustic enclosure:

The a co ustic enclos ure is ma de o f 1.6/2 mm thick CRC A she ets

in Munsel green shade and a structural/sheet meta l ba se frame

pa inted in blac k. The w a lls o f the enc los ure are insula ted w ith

fire retardant foa m so as to c omply with the 75 dBA at mtr sound

levels s pec ified by Ministry o f Environment &Forest.

The enc los ure has the follow ing fea tures:

- LCD engine hour counter – The c ontrol includes a n LCD

engine ho ur counter. The c ounter w ill increment whe never the

engine is running.

Functions : Control / Protection

ControlRemote Start – When in MANUAL/AUTO m od e

the control accepts a ground signal from remote

devices to automatically start the generator set.

Engine Starting – The c ontrol system supports

automatic engine starting, which includes solid

state outputs for starter control, and fuel solenoid

control. The sta rt disc onnect is a chieved by

monitoring main a lternator output frequenc y.

Starting Sequence – In the MANUAL/AUTO mo de,

the crank cycle is repeated up to 3 times, if starting

is still unsucces sful a Fail to Sta rt fault is generated .

If the engine starts, the crank cycle is terminated at

a crank disconnect frequency of 20 Hz.
