With students cheering on all sides, senior Bronco Brigade captain Carson Rahrig walks onto the gym fl oor to perform a skit for the student body at the senior pep rally. “What we had planned originally didn’t relate to the senior pep rally. We came up with a new skit to perform instead. Leanne made signs that looked cute. We had six seniors and “senior” has six letters. I thought it would work,” Rahrig said.

During the pep rally, everything went smoothly. Even Bronco Brigade’s skit went well, up until the end. As the underclassman laid on the fl oor making a ‘13’ with their bodies, the seniors lined up to spell out ‘S-E-N-I-O-R.’

“I forgot I was still supposed to spell out ‘senior.’ I was worried about the ‘13’ on the fl oor. [The underclassmen] messed it up,” Mondon said.

As the seniors lined up and the underclassmen positioned themselves, Mondon and Young forgot

their places in the line.

“I didn’t even know I spelled it wrong until someone told me a� er the pep rally and Cole showed me the photo he took of it,” Mondon said.

The idea for the skit came from a performance witnessed by Mondon during her freshman year.

“We kind of did a run through, but not everyone was there. We didn’t have any real practice,” Mondon said.

Junior Cole Hughes was one of the photographers to catch the incident on camera.

“A� er I took the picture, I went over to Madison because I was kind of shocked. She freaked out because she spelled ‘S-E-I-N-O-R’ instead of the right word,” Hughes said.

Although initially embarrassed by the incident, Mondon got past it.

“Bronco Brigade blamed me entirely for [the mistake]. Oh well,” Mondon said.
