HALLOWEEN AT ISK! – Thursday 31 October Celebrations! 3-5pm – (LS) Trick or Treating! – Foundation, Reception, and Years 1-3 Only

Students will have a chance to Trick or Treat in their costumes at the Row Houses near the school!

Parents must accompany students while Trick or Treating. 6-8pm – (US) Monster Mash Halloween Dance! – Years 4-9

The dance will take place at the Lower School Hall on the 3rd Floor. All attending students must buy a ticket. Tickets cost 7,000krw – Tickets include snacks, drinks, photo booth, treat bag, costume contest & a night of dancing and fun!

SCHOOL PICTURES

Like last year, the ISK PTA has arranged for a photographer to come to the school to take individual student photos and a group photo of each class. Following the picture days, the PTA will receive a sample photo of each child. This sample photo will be attached to an order form and sent home in the coming weeks. You will have several size options available if you would like to order photos. Below you will find which classes take photos on each day.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4th

FOUNDATION

The Foundation classes at ISK spent Monday travelling to Busan and having a wonderful time at the Busan Aquarium as their entry point for their newest IPC Early Years unit, 'Animals'. We were able to see many different aquatic animals, from turtles to eels to jellyfish to sharks! The children were even able to extend their discoveries through their sense of touch, being able to touch and hold starfish, crabs and a shark's egg. All of the aquatic animals we saw came in an amazing range shapes, sizes and colours. We finished up our tour by watching a special show where divers fed the sharks and stingrays some fish!

We enjoyed the autumn sun on Haeundae Beach for lunch before most of us had a snooze on the bus home! Thank you to all of the parent helpers who came with us to make it a smooth and enjoyable time. Continues on next page…

RECEPTION CLASS IPC – TREASURE!

Last week the Reception classes invited their parents into school to share in their IPC learning. The Reception children have been exploring the "Treasure" IPC unit. It has been a very exciting unit for the children especially when exploring pirates and special treasures. Some of the activities included making treasure maps, writing a "message in a bottle", making pirate crafts and performing their song/poem that they have been learning in class.

Thank you to all the parents for your help and support this was a great opportunity to share our learning with you!

ASAs: US CONSTRUCTION CLUB! The Upper School Construction club has been busy constructing a Space City! Using all sorts of K’nex parts, the club members created a Space hotel, a Spaceship, a Space Pet Shop, a Space Advertisement Board and many other features to enhance their Space City.

JOIN THE ISK COMMUNITY CHOIR! The ISK Community Choir will be an opportunity for adults to sing a beautiful piece of music called Adiemus by Karl Jenkins alongside the school choir in our Winter Concert (Listen to Adiemus). Mr Jackson will be taking the rehearsals and any parents or school staff will be welcome to join in. There will be weekly evening rehearsals for the adults and also some afternoon opportunities to sing with the children before the performance. If you are working during the afternoon rehearsals, that will be ok, just so long as you can make it on concert day! Please sign up here.
