Scripture: Psalm 107:1

“Erupt with thanks to the Eternal, for He is good and His loyal love last forever.”

Challenge: Be thankful for God's goodness.

Prayer: God, thanks so much for being stable, and for being a constant in my life. I am overwhelmed with your goodness and love for me. I ask today that I am mindful of how you created me and for the breath in my lungs. Thank you for creating me.Amen.

Day 2

Scripture: 1 Chronicles 29:13

“Because of your greatness, our God, we testify about Your greatness and praise Your glorious name.“

Challenge: Be thankful for the greatness of God.

Prayer: Gracious God, may we see your greatness in every aspect of our life. The awesomeness of your presence can be seen in every avenue of life. Please help us to look more closely for the depths of your perfection and magnitude. Amen.



Day 3

Scripture: Daniel 2:23

“I recognize who You are, and I praise and thank You, God of my ancestors, for You have given me wisdom and strength. And now You have graciously revealed to me what we asked of You.”

Challenge: Be thankful for the wisdom God has provided you.

Prayer: All-knowing God, I thank you for the direction and guidance you've provided me in my life, and for increasing my wisdom as the years pass. I pray that I'll continually see you as the source of all wisdom, and that I will continue to turn to You for help in understanding myself and the world around me. Amen

Day 4

Scripture: Psalm 95:2-3

“Come face-to-face with God, and give thanks; with loud and joyful voices, praise Him in songs. For the Eternal is a great God, and a great King, supreme over all gods.”

Challenge: Be thankful for the power of God

Prayer: Endlessly powerful God, I thank you so much that I can rely on the reality of your power and strength. When I feel helpless and vulnerable, Lord, let me turn to You and know that You are unintimidated by the threats I face, and that You go before me. Amen.

Day 5

Scripture: Philippians 4:6

“Don't be anxious about things; instead pray. Pray about everything. He longs to hear your requests, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful for what has come.”

Challenge: Be thankful for your problems and know they are an opportunity to lean on God's strength and grow closer to Him.

Prayer: Thank you God for offering to take my burdens. You are so good and loving, and you are a perfect parent. You care so deeply for me and are concerned about my well-being. Thank you for stepping into my life and showing me the power and strength you possess. Help me to turn to You always. Amen.

Day 6

Scripture: Philemon 1:4

“I am constantly thanking God for you in my prayers.”

Challenge: Be thankful for your Christian community and friends.

Prayer: Lord, Thank you for the other believers in my life. I ask that we draw closer to You together. I pray that our relationships grow deeper in transparency and love. I ask that we build each other up in Your name and can truly be Your hands and feet to each other and to the world. Amen.



Day 7


“Go through His gates, giving thanks; walk through His courts, giving praise. Offer Him your gratitude and praise His holy name.”

Challenge: Be thankful that Jesus is our King.

Prayer: Jesus, merciful and generous King, thank you for introducing me to your Kingdom of Heaven, and allowing me to enter into a new land where you preside in this life here and now. Help me to seek your Kingdom in all places, and know that You are my refuge and greatest support. Amen.

Day 8

Scripture: Isaiah 12:4

“Give thanks to the Eternal; call on His name. Spread the news throughout the world of what He has done and how great is His name!”

Challenge: Be thankful for the work of Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Jesus, I thank you so much for revealing the truth and fullness of God to all of us in the work you have done. Thank you for your ministry and teachings, and for establishing Your Church, which continues to this day. Help me to walk in your footsteps in my own life, and lead me to better understand what it means to be shaped in Your image. Amen.



Day 9

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:18

“Give thanks to God no matter what circumstances you find yourself in.”

Challenge: Be thankful in both the good and bad circumstances you are facing.

Prayer: Dear God, I sincerely thank you that you are reliable in every way and at all times. The paths that I walk are often precarious and filled with dangers. Lord, help me to turn to you in the joy and the sorrow, during safety and precariousness. I pray that I will find the intentionality in my life to seek your direction no matter what happens. Amen.

Day 10


“Praise the Eternal! Thank Him because He is good and His loyal love will never end.”

Challenge: Be thankful that God loves you unconditionally

Prayer: Endlessly Amazing God, I thank you for the unceasing love you have shown me throughout my life. You've loved me when I haven't deserved it, and your compassion follows me everywhere I go. Help me to see your love as the defining characteristic of my life, and I pray that I'll always be able to return to recognizing your love when I need it the most. Amen.



Day 11

Scripture: Colossians 3:16

“Let the word of the Anointed One richly inhabit your lives. With all wisdom teach, counsel, and instruct one another. Sing the psalms, compose hymns and songs inspired by the Spirit, and keep on singing--sing to God from hearts full and spilling over with thankfulness.”

Challenge: Be thankful for God’s Written Word and How it has Helped You to Know and Follow Him.

Prayer: God, Thank you so much for how You have revealed Yourself through the Word. Lord, if it were not for Your Word, I would not know You like I do. Thank you for interacting with and leading humanity to You. We would be very lost with out Your work here on Earth. Thank you! Amen.

Day 12

Scripture: Hebrews 12:28

“Therefore, let us be thankful that we are part of an unshakable Kingdom and offer to God worship that pleases Him and reflects the awe and reverence we have toward Him.”

Challenge: Be Thankful for Jesus’ Ministry on Earth and the Kingdom He Ushered in.



Prayer: Jesus,Your kingdom can be found in so many places all around me, but I often fail to see it, or abide within its boundaries. Lord, help me to see the fruit of your work and labor all around me, and to recognize that I live in a new kingdom where Heaven meets Earth. Amen.

Day 13


“Give thanks to the Eternal because He is always good. He never ceases to be loving and kind.

Let the people of Israel proclaim: "He never ceases to be loving and kind."Let the priests of Aaron's line proclaim: "He never ceases to be loving and kind."Let the people who fear the Eternal proclaim: "He never ceases to be loving and kind."

When trouble surrounded me, I cried out to the Eternal; He answered me and brought me to a wide, open space. The Eternal is with me, so I will not be afraid of anything. If God is on my side, how can anyone hurt me? The Eternal is on my side, a champion for my cause; so when I look at those who hate me, victory will be in sight. It is better to put your faith in the Eternal for your security than to trust in people.”

Challenge: Be thankful for God’s love, protection and loyalty to you.

Prayer: God, thank you for always being there for me, whether I realize it or not. Your love washes over me daily, hourly, and moment-by-moment. I am so fortunate to have you walking with



me and loving me. Your goodness knows no bounds. Thank you for who You are! Amen.

Day 14

Challenge: Give thanks to God that we are able to come before Him and express our love, gratitude and thanksgiving.

Prayer: Gracious God, I am so thankful that you accept my prayers, and are willing to accept my gratitude to you. You have made yourself accessible through prayer, and despite all of my failings, you still look upon my love for you with joy and acceptance. Amen.

“Come, offer thanks to the Eternal; invoke His holy name. Tell other people about the things He has done.”

Challenge: Be thankful for those who have helped you grow closer to God.



Prayer: God, Thank you for the work of Your people. Thank you that Your followers become your hands, feet and mouth in this world. Without other Christians, I wouldn’t know you as well as I do, if at all. Thank you for the work of Your son, Jesus, who made this all possible. Amen.

Day 16


“Pray and keep praying. Be alert and thankful when you pray.”

Challenge: Be thankful that you are able to communicate with God.

Prayer: God, I am overwhelmed with the honor that I can come before you and speak to You. Not only do I communicate with You, but You always listen and guide me on the right path. Thank you for being so good to me. You truly are an amazing God! Amen.

Day 17


“The Eternal is the source of my strength and the shield that guards me. When I learn to rest and truly rest in Him, He sends His help. This is why my heart is singing! I open my mouth to praise Him, and thankfulness rises as a song.”

Challenge: Be thankful for God’s strength, power and love in your life.



Prayer: God, Thank you for being the powerful, source of strength in my life. Your power, protection and love are not lost on me. I do not know what my life would be like if you were not in it. Thank you for always being there! Amen.

Scripture: Revelation 7:12

“Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God on and on throughout all the ages. Amen.”

Challenge: Be thankful for God’s eternal presence.

Prayer: Always present and knowing God, I thank you so much that you are never far from me. You walk alongside me easily because you are always with me. I need to trust more fully that your presence dwells with me and watches over me, always looking out for my best interest. Amen.

Day 19

Scripture: Jeremiah 33:11

“Give thanks to the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies, for He is good. His faithful love endures forever.”

Challenge: Be thankful for God’s never-ending and never-failing love.



Prayer: God, Thank you so much for your abundant, overwhelming love. That You would love me is simply astonishing. Thank you for looking at me with grace and love. Amen.

Day 20

Scripture: Ephesians 5:20

“And to give thanks to God the Father every day through the name of our Lord Jesus the Anointed for He has done.”

Challenge: Be thankful today for the Good News that Jesus Christ is Lord!

Prayer: God, Thank you so much for the saving work of Jesus Christ. He had an unbelievable task and I am so thankful for His hard work. The world is literally different because of His sacrifice. God, it is amazing what Jesus did. Not only did He die for my sins, He taught me what it is like to follow You and to live in Your love. Thank you Jesus!

Day 21


“Let your hearts fall under the rule of the Anointed's peace (the peace you were called to as one body), and be thankful.”

Challenge: Be thankful for peace which is a fruit of the Spirit and a gift from God.



Prayer: God, thank you for the gifts you bestow upon me. Lord, I am especially thankful for the gift of peace. I know that when you reign in my heart, a stillness comes over me. Peace can only come from You. I desperately need to live in Your peace; help me to have the ability to do so. Amen.

Day 22

Scripture: Jonah 2:9

“But I will sing to You and sacrifice to You with a voice filled with thanksgiving; whatever I promised, I will certainly pay it because deliverance is from the Eternal alone.”

Challenge: Be thankful that God has asked you to make sacrifices in your life.

Prayer: Dear God, I have given up many things in many life, and I know that there are many more things that I'll lose. I pray that you will help me to see how the sacrifices in my life are leading to greater wisdom, and may I always be open to your work in my life. Enable me to see joy in the things that I must give up to follow you. Amen.

Day 23 Happy Thanksgiving

Scripture: Luke 22:19

“Then He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and shared it with them.”



Challenge: Give thanks for the gift of Communion, which is a uniquely Christian ritual of worship.

Prayer: Jesus, In your final meal on Earth, you asked us to remember you through the act of communion. I thank you for the opportunity to celebrate your work of salvation through communion, and pray that I will more fully recognize the specialness of this ceremony and truly use it as an opportunity to reflect on your sacrifice. May I remember you today as well as I celebrate with others and may gratefulness for what you did for us not be lost. Amen.

Day 24

Scripture: Revelation 4:9-11

“And when the living creatures declared glory and honor and thanksgiving to the One seated on the throne, the One who lives throughout all the ages, the twenty-four elders fell prostrate before the One seated on the throne, worshipped the One who lives throughout all the ages, cast their golden wreaths before the throne, and chanted to Him.

Worthy are you O Lord; worthy are you O God, to receive glory and honor and power. You alone created all things, and through Your will and by Your design, they exist and were created.”

Challenge: Be thankful for the Creator who is God.



Prayer: Holy, holy, holy are you God, thank you for just who You are! You’re awesomeness and power are overwhelming. Thank you for your creation as well. Thank you for creating me, fellow humans, and the world. Your beautiful work is everywhere I look, from the mountains to people’s actions. Your design is simply breathtaking. Thank you! Amen

Challenge: Be thankful for the memory of what God has done in your life.

Prayer: God, thank you for the ways you have moved in my life. Thank you for being there with me through the toughest times and the most joyous moments. Thank you that I can look back and see just how you led me through. Help me to see you clearly in present situations as well. Thank you for being so reliable. Amen.

Day 26

Scripture: Daniel 6:10

“Even though Daniel was aware the king had signed the ordinance into law, he continued to do what he always did. He



would go home, ascend the stairs to the upper room--which had windows facing toward Jerusalem--and get down on his knees three times a day and pray to his God and praise and thank Him.”

Challenge: Be thankful that you can worship God freely.

Prayer: God, thank you so much that we live in a place where by saying your name doesn’t put our life at risk. Lord, help us to remember how many religious freedoms we do have. Thank you that we can speak freely of your good Name and works. Amen.

*Special note to all those who may be reading in places where Christian persecution occurs. We remember you today and pray for strength and the power of Christ to overcome you, like it did for Paul and the other disciples.

Day 27

Challenge: Be thankful that God is the one and only God, the true One.

Prayer: God, thank you for being real, not some myth or story, but real and alive. Thank you so much for being who You say You are. You are so dependable and good, thank you! Amen.



Day 28

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:11

“Join us in this work. Lend us a hand through prayer so that many will give thanks for the gift that comes to us when God answers the prayers of so many.”

Challenge: Be thankful for the ability to bring people before the Lord and pray for them.

Prayer: God, thanks so much for listening to my concerns and requests. I am so grateful that I can ask You to help my loved ones. I am thankful that You are not only concerned with me, but others as well. It’s an amazing privilege to be able to bring people who need Your help to Your throne. I thank you for these opportunities! Amen.

Day 29


“You have restored my honor. My heart is ready to explode, erupt in new songs! It is impossible to keep quiet! Eternal One, my God, my Life-Giver, I will thank You forever.”

Challenge: Be thankful for the ability to worship.

Prayer: God, thank you for the ability to worship. Worship connects me with You. It also helps me express what’s deep down in my heart. I feel an immense release when I get to sing to You; it renews me. Unbelievable God, you are so good to me and



to us, and your gift of worship is evidence of your goodness. Amen.

Scripture: Revelation 11:17

“We give You thanks, Lord God, the All Powerful, who is and who was. For You have wielded Your great power and have begun Your reign.“

Challenge: Be thankful for the eternal God, who was and who is.

Prayer: My God, thank you, thank you, thank you for You. Thank you that You have always been and You will always be. Nothing can shake You. Nothing can move You. You are unstoppable. You will reign forever! Your Kingdom is grand and I am so fortunate to be part of it, thank you.

Final Prayer: Lord, as I walk away from this month of intentional thankfulness, help me to hold onto this heart attribute. Help me to always be thankful and keep my eyes on You. Lord, I often fail, but when I do, help me remember You are right there to help me get back on track. I love You with everything I have and thank you for everything You are and everything You do. Amen.

We wanted to make something for you that you could share with your loved ones at Thanksgiving Dinner, so we put together the following activity with print out!

1. Print out page 22 of this document, which features 8 cards to put at your dinner table.

2. Cut out the cards, making one card for each guest.

3. Place the cards, along with a pen, at each place setting on Thanksgiving.

4. Sometime before dinner, have each guest fill out the card, indicating what they are thankful for.

5. Collect the cards, randomly shuffle them, and redistribute them to all the tables.



6. At your point of choosing during Thanksgiving dinner, have each guest read the card at their place setting.
