3.1 Power supply
External wiring procedure- The power supply work is needed only to the outdoor unit. The power supply to the BD unit and the indoor unit is conduct-
ed through the transmission wiring. Therefore, the power supply work can be carried out at just one place of the outdoorunit. It will contribute to simplify the work procedure and to save cost.
- Wiring cable size must comply with the applicable local and national code.

• There is no limitation on the joint mounting configuration.
• If the diameter of the refrigerant piping selected by the procedures described is different from the sizeof the joint, the connecting section should be cut with a pipe cutter.
• Branch pipe should be insulated with the insulation in each kit.

Thermal insulation work
• Securely wrap the refrigerant and the branch pipe by using thermal insulation materials provided.When using thermal insulation materials released, use withstand heat insulation materials.(thicknessof more than 10mm)
• Securely adhere thermal insulation materials wrapping the branch pipe so that they do not widen. After wrapping them with auxiliary materials , bound them with a band .
• Finish the work by wrapping with a vinyl tape after the insulation material work.
• When installing the branch pipe, direction and angle of installation is not limited.• Take care so that burrs and foreign material may not enter into the cutting surface when connecting.

3) Installation of BD unit
① Branch distributor unit We recommend BD unit installation at indoor side. but, ifyou install it outdoor side, care should be taken againstwater and other factors which may damage the pcb.
③ Installation of BD unit• This unit may be installed suspended from the ceiling or
mounted on the wall.
• This unit may only be installed horizontally , as shown inthe diagram below. (Side B is facing up) However, it maybe freely installed in any direction, forward or backward,and to the sides.
• Be sure to secure a 600mm square opening for serviceand inspection as shown in the diagram below, for bothceiling - suspended installation and wall-mounted installa-tion.
• BD unit does not require drain treatment as it uses inter-nal insulation.
• Service direction is the side B and C
• The piping for the indoor unit may be led around in direc-tion A
• The inclination of side B must be within ±5 degree for-ward or backward or to the sides.

• This unit has two different installation types: (1) Ceiling-suspended type and (2) wall-mounted type.

Procedure(1) Fix the furnished hanger metal with two screws.(4 loca-
tions in total).
(2) Using an insert-hole-in- anchor, hang the hanging bolt.
(3) Install a hexagon nut and a flat washer (locally-procured)to the hanging bolt as shown in the figure.
(4) After checking the level of the unit, tighten the hexagonnut.
Procedure(1) Fix the furnished hanger metal with two screws.
(3 locations in total).
(2) After checking with a level that the unit is level, fix theunit
* Block up the parts of hanger holes (2 places) byusing insulation polyethylene form after installingthe hanger.(This is to prevent condensation)

① Remove the control cover, unscrew the two screws and slide the cover in thedirection of the arrow given below.
② Perform wiring with reference to the wiring diagram on a control cover of the out-door unit. Secure 300 mm for the pulling-out section of harness. Fix the wires com-pletely with wire clamps.
③ Put in the cover in the direction of the arrow then tighten the screws.
4) Electrical Wiring of BD Unit
• Connect refrigerant pipes and connection wires to the appropriate ports marked with matching alphabets (A, Band C) on this unit.
• Follow the instructions on the wiring nameplate to connect the connection wires of indoor/outdoor units to termi-nal board numbers.(A, B and C) Always fix each ground wire separately with a ground screw.(See the figurebelow.)
• After completing the wiring, fix the outer coating of wires securely with wire clamps. The wire clamp on indoorunit side is furnished. Follow the procedure below to install.
• Refer to the circuit diagram on the control cover inside outdoor unit.

④ Connection of piping
• When connecting indoor units, make sure to connect refrigerant pipes and connection wires to the appropriate connection portsmaked with matching alphabets. (A, B, C, D)
• Be sure to mark all the local refrigerant piping(liquid pipes, gas pipes,etc.) for each indoor unit designating clearly which room it belongs in.(A, B, C, D)
NOTE
For flaring work the piping, follow the instructions in the installation manual to each unit.
a) Align the center of the pipings and sufficiently tight-en the flare nut by hand.
b) Tighten the flare nut with a wrench.
c) Wrap the insulation material around the connect-ing portion.
① Overlap the Refrigarant cable insulation material and theindoor unit pipe insulation material. Bind them togetherwith vinyl tape so that there is no gap.
②Wrap the area which accommodates the rear pipinghousing section with vinyl tape.
③ Align the center of the piping and sufficiently tighten thebrass cap by hand.
④ Tighten the brass cap with a wrench.
⑤Wrap the joint part with insulation.
