SELLER INSIGHT It was quite simply the fact that the house offered just about everything that we’d been looking for in a family home that sold the property to us

seven years ago,” says the owner. “The amount of space both inside and out was fabulous, the rooms were all nicely proportioned, the layout flowed beautifully and although the décor was really quite dated, the fact that we could put our own stamp on the place was a real bonus. And the fantastic location was another huge draw. It’s a very peaceful and exceptionally pretty setting – we back onto open fields so the views are just stunning – however, at the same time there are a number of well-served villages close by and we’re equidistant between Oxford and Milton Keynes so it’s one of those places that offers the best of everything.”

“The décor was definitely in need of an update, but over time we’ve made other changes to the house that we feel have enhanced it no end. We added a lovely dressing room in the main bedroom, a pretty porch was added to the front of the house, but the biggest change was made to the old conservatory. We put on a solid roof and opened up the wall between it and the kitchen so we now have this lovely big open-plan kitchen, dining and living area that overlooks and opens onto the garden; it’s the family space everyone wants these days. The house was just lovely when we bought it, but I’d now say that it’s pretty much the ideal family home.”

“Outside we have a really good-size garden, that again is very family-friendly,” continues the owner. “There’s an open lawn, lots of well-established plants and we added a decked seating area, complete with built-in speakers and outside lights so it’s a great space for alfresco entertaining. I’d say that the garden is one of the things that we’re going to miss most about the property as it’s a very tranquil space and something that has given us an awful lot of enjoyment.”

“The open-plan area is definitely my favourite. It’s perfect for day-to-day family life, great for entertaining and I love the way it connects almost seamlessly with the garden.”

“The location of the house is absolutely superb. We enjoy gorgeous views and all the benefits of rural living, including having access to lovely countryside walks and a fantastic farm shop that sells delicious local produce, and we’re only around a fifteen-minute drive from both Buckingham and Bicester so everything is within easy reach. ”

“The house has a fantastic amount of space, including loads of storage so it never feels cluttered; everything has its place. And it’s ideal for those needing to work from home. We have an office by the front door and I use one of the bedrooms as my workspace. The layout can be adapted depending on the family’s needs.”

“We’ve decided to take on a renovation project, but I’m going to be really sad to leave this house,” says the owner. “It’s been a wonderful home and the location is going to be really hard to beat.”
