Our proud organization, the Advertising Suppliers Association of the Philippines has established a successful track record for the past 30 years. To this day, we are fighting off the perception that we are ‘just suppliers’ instead of true partners in the creative process. One of our priorities should be to step up and brand ourselves as a collection of builders and think tanks that serve as the backbone for local marketing communications productions. In the ever-changing world of advertising, talent still commands a premium. That is exactly what we can bring to the table. Comprised of technical experts, creative geniuses, event masterminds, industrious producers, brilliant directors, fresh designers and audio-

video wizards, we are in a position to be recognized as valuable co-creators. In an effort to create, enhance and deliver more value, we are launching a brand new website. Formatted as a search engine, the new website will make sourcing for talent even easier than before. With a few mouse clicks and key strokes, anyone can have access to the rich diversity within ASAP’s portfolio. Officially introduced in June 21, 2012 at The Residences in Greenbelt, the website launch also featured a talk from Yahoo Philippines Country Ambassador and Sales Director Arlene Amarante. MyPortal.com is behind the website design and interface.

The site is currently open to advertising partnerships as it builds towards being the go-to destination for true value in the local advertising landscape.

With all the steps that ASAP is taking, we are calling on our fellow members to support and contribute to the over-all value that the organization can provide. Driving traffic to the website and using the website yourselves is integral to its success. Your participation in terms of search optimization packages, pages and banner ads and digital advertising options is equally important. A solid, collective effort from all members will not only raise ASAP’s profile but will also generate additional funds to finance future ASAP endeavors.

Being a member of the Advertising Suppliers Association of the Philippines has its perks, but it doesn’t hurt to have more. Finding more reasons to entice new members and further reward current ones is high on the priority list. With that in mind, ASAP members may soon be encouraged to give discounts to fellow ASAP members. Though it may seem like a win-win situation for all, regularizing these discounts can tmatter. Are you in favor of a standardized discount system or do you see this as just another headache?

Are we FRIENDLY towards FRIENDLY rates?

Weigh IN ASAP!

Since it’s inception, ASAP has always been the Advertising Suppliers Association of the Philippines. The collective may get to keep the acronym, but a tweak may be on the way. There is increasing buzz about swapping out “suppliers” with “services”. Why? Well, the term “supplier” may be a bit out of date, creating a negative connotation among others. It might be misinterpreted as purely manual labor and of very little significance. What do you think? Is it time for a change?

WHAT’s in a NAME?

The ASAP Infoglio, formerly known as the ASAP Blackbook, has been a vital and prestigious tool for the longest time. It’s the ultimate directory of advertising suppliers, prompting all upcoming service companies to dream of one day gracing its pages. But as with any printed material, the digital age has brought with it major issues. The Infoglio is in danger of being rendered irrelevant, at least in its current format. With many advertising practitioners now brandishing the latest smartphones, an Infoglio mobile app is now being tabled as an option. Do you believe making this shift can keep the Infoglio maintain its purpose and relevance?

Where to go with Infoglio?
