will lecture on The Dragon Ships of Oslo: Oseberg, Gokstad and Tune.
WHAT: Closing Reception for George WilliamsWHERE: The Performing Arts Studio, 200 S. Jones
WHEN: 6 to 9 p.m.ABOUT: The Performing Arts Studio closes out an
exhibit from nature photographer George Williams. The John Arnold Band will also play their unique blend of bluegrass,
country swing, jazz and rock.
WHAT: Growing Things: Community Building Through the ArtsWHERE: Firehouse Art Center, 444 South Flood AvenueWHEN: 6 to 9 p.m.ABOUT: Firehouse Art Center presents the final installation of work created during a 3-month (December through February) project that engaged elementary school children in exercises in the elements of design and the art of printmaking. Growing Things: Community Building Through the Arts has over 2,000 children from at least four area schools in the creation of a forest installation in the FAC Gallery. Each school group will also create a second set of prints for installation at their own school. OU print students will be printing t-shirts, either for free or a small donation to FAC’s children’s art programming if the shirt is provided by the Firehouse.

artist Jayce Cogburn. Cogburn creates woodcuts of off-the-wall animal creatures with bold colors.
WHAT: The Imaginary Family Project book release + John Calvin & FriendsWHERE: STASH, 412 E. MainWHEN: 6 to 10 p.m.ABOUT: STASH celebrates the book release of The Imaginary Family Project, a compilation of 52 short stories by 51 different authors. Organized by Quentin Bomgardner and sponsored by The Red Dirt Chronicles, the project asked authors to create an imagined history for a “found” photograph acquired at a flea market, garage sale or eBay. John Calvin and Friends will also perform.
