Archeological findings testify the human presence in the area over 25 centuries ago. Peristeri in 1934 was detached from Municipality of

Athens and recognized as a separate one, conducting the same year the first local elections.


Today is the central and most populated city of Athens Western Sector Field


It is a modern city with two metro stations, big market & famous squares with “tavernas”, coffee-bar & club for evening entertainment


Peristeri is a working –middle class city and since 2009 faces unemployment & social problems due the economic crisis
