Student Ahmed completed a masters thesis under supervision

of Prof. Mervat and other two supervisors. He completed his

thesis without any guidance of Prof. Mervat and before

publishing the data he left the university. Prof. Mervat

contacted Ahmed number of times about writing up his work

for publication in an international journal. Initially, he responds

that he is working on the paper but later, he indicates that he

doesn’t have time to write up the paper. Prof. Mervat decided

to publish Ahmed’s work without his name while, one of the

other two advisors didn’t agree.28
