When I was thinking of a pop magazine I imagine joy and happiness. I wanted my main image to bring out a smile on my readers because people relate smile to something good and positive and if I manage to give the audience that feeling they would probably buy the magazine.
The reason why I chose to have a girl group on the front cover and instead of only one person was because I wanted a challenge. It’s harder to find a group with girls that are willing to get photographed and all at the same time, which also make it hard to find time for re-shooting. However it looks much better and more professional on the cover which make it worth it.
Constructions
What I did to make my magazine match the genre and social group (teens):• I used young girls on my front cover for the
audience to be able to relate the magazine to themselves.
• I picked the most happiest images I could find of my photo shoot to put in my magazine to make the magazine appeal to the audience.
Constructions
• I let my artists to style themselves for them to be able to show their own personality on the image.
• I told them to bring black and white clothes for them to match each other on the picture, but still with some personality because they got to style themselves.
Constructions
• My location is a bedroom wall, I wanted to make it look like a studio image and because I lived far away from college I couldn’t take the picture in the college studio because all of my friends did not go to the same school.
• I wanted the image to be bright and with focus on the girls emotions, that’s why I wanted my image to be in a studio because the white background don’t take away any attention from the girls.
