Friday Fridge Notes April 29, 2011 Announcements The entire school is participating in an interdisciplinary study of Africa for macro 5. Many diverse aspects of learning are being examined to make connections across disciplinary boundaries. Biological evidence of evolutionary connections between cultures, modern political crises, historical civilizations, folktales, oral traditions, and connections between Africa and both South and North America, and many other elements are being examined. This should be fun, revealing and instructive and we are looking forward to the journey. The Gailer School is holding an Open House this coming Monday, May 2 nd , from 6:00 to 7:30PM. We hope parents and students alike will come to help show visitors around the school and to share their experiences and thoughts about Gailer. Please invite any friends or community members you think may have an interest in the school to attend. There is NO In-service Day on Friday, May 13 th .Classes will be held as usual. We want to remind everyone that The Gailer School offers two one-year scholarships every year, the Renaissance Scholar’s Program and the Clayton Math Scholarship. The deadline to apply for next year is June 15 th ! Thank You! To everyone who has volunteered to help Brie with spring cleaning at the school on Sunday. We could use a few more helping hands between 2:00 and 6:00PM. Please contact Brie at [email protected] if you can help. . Announcements

* My dentist, for making my teeth all shiny and clean, and for telling me about study
