Exhibit OpeningNovember 28, 2018, 7 PM

Object Portrait Exhibit is an installation inspired by the Julia Bench Project. The exhibition is comprised of 18 painted benches, hand-written poems printed on large-format scrolls and found objects forming an evolving on-site installation. PHSA Visual Arts Alumni from Amorsolo-Abelardo Batch 1981 and friends were invited to collaborate and contribute painted layers and designs on the benches in response to the poems. The installation is conceptualized with Alwin Reamillo. Bulwagang Carlos Francisco (Little Theater Lobby)

1-3pm WORKSHOPS**Cultivating Attunement, Inner Composure, and Resilience Through ArtsThis visual arts workshop introduces some basic guides on how to be more mindful with one’s thoughts and emotions and to offer a friendly attitude towards one’s experiences in life. It also provides some basic experiential exercises on cultivating inner composure and resilience that the participants may be able to apply in their day-to-day encounters. Facilitators: ArtPsych Circle Inc. and MADE NOW (Metrobank Foundation Art and Design Network of Winners) Pasilyo Victorio Edades (4th Floor Hallway) Maximum Number of Participants: 30

Learn to Play the UkuleleResearch has proven that learning a musical instrument creates new ways of expression, nurtures a sense of self-awareness, and contributes greatly to self-affirmation. As one learns to create new sounds and tuneful melodies with the instrument, the brain makes the similar connections within the environment which aids in healing and wellness. Facilitators: Happy Music Ukulele Club Bulwagang Amado Hernandez (Conference Room) Maximum Number of Participants: 30 Note: Ukuleles will be sold at the Little Theater Lobby. A limited number will be lent to the participants. Bringing your own ukulele is encouraged.

PoetreatA poetry workshop based on the postgraduate thesis of writer Vim Nadera Jr. on Clinicial Psychology. This workshop aims to demonstrate the power of poetry in helping us recognize difficult emotions and express them through poetry. Facilitator : Dr. Vim Nadera, Jr. Bulwagang Pambansang Alagad ng Sining (MKP Multi-Purpose Hall) Maximum Number of Participants: 30 Note: Target participants are Teachers and Guidance Counselors

1-2:30pm FILM SCREENING**Short films on mental conditions from the 3rd Quisumbing-Escandor Film Fest followed by a forum facilitated by psychologist Dr. Richthofen de Jesus.

Video testimonials of Laya Arioder, Gabbie Tatad and Pauline Palita that will culminate with a forum led by Alya Honasan and Dr. Richthofen de Jesus. Directed by Jenny Jamora and written by Anj Heruela. Performers: Kare Adea, Kalila Aguilos, Laya Arioder, Yani Arioder, Nonie Buencamino, Shamaine Buencamino, Ballet Manila’s Kayla Anne Coseteng and Banaue Miclat-Janssen. “Pabaong Tinapay”This visual art activity will focus on getting in touch with one’s feelings, tap on resources, and identify that “bread” that will give us hope. Facilitators: JMEAD Arts Factory Pasilyo Victorio Edades (4th Floor Hallway) Maximum Number of Participants: 25

8-10pm PERFORMANCE***I:UNDERWATER and Other RuminationsI:underwater is a self-revelatory performance where Issa Manalo Lopez interrogates the roots of her mental disorder and allows the audience to step in as witness. The creators are Issa Manalo Lopez, J Laspuña, Sheka Ong, Ina Azarcon-Bolivar and Kat Bonillo.

Other Ruminations is a biographical theater performance by Shamaine Buencamino in collaboration with Layeta Bucoy, Jóse Estrella, Kare Adea and Gerald Mercado. Dancers: Kare Adea, Debbie Afuang and John Paul Ortenero. Talkback follows. Tanghalang Huseng Batute (CCP Studio Theater)
