Your Wedding Reception


At Highfield Hall we specialise in Weddings and offer a personal service from

your first viewing to the day of your wedding with a dedicated, experienced team

we will be there for you throughout.

As a family owned venue we are able to offer flexibility and are always happy to

discuss special requests to personalise the day for each and every couple.

We offer a wide variety of food and drink options for you & your guests to enjoy.

The landscaped gardens provide a beautiful background for your wedding

photographs, along with many photo opportunities inside the hotel to cope with

rainy days.

We provide fully exclusive use of the hotel & grounds so you can truly think of

the hotel as your home for the day. There will be nobody other than your guests

having a meal or a drink or staying in a bedroom, giving you total privacy, and

allowing you to feel totally relaxed and at home.

We are able to arrange viewings for any day as long as we do not have a private

function taking place, so no need to wait for an open day, just contact us with a

day you would like to come in and we arrange a convenient time for a visit.

General Information


How To Book

If you decide you would Highfield Hall to be your wedding venue we would

be delighted to hold a date for you for a week while you check with friends,

family, and maybe a church or the registrars for example…

Just contact us to check availability and all we require is your contact details

to hold.

To book we require a £500 deposit which can be spread across two months to

ease payments, a further £500 6 months prior to your wedding day, and the

final balance is due 6 weeks prior to your wedding.

We do not need to know full details for you to book, but allow you the

flexibility to explore ideas and change number of guests etc … As the whole

of Highfield Hall is yours for the day you can change your mind on which

room you want to eat in for example.

All prices would be set at the prices in the brochure in place on the day you

put your deposit down allowing you time to decide what to have.

Eight Weeks before your wedding we sit down with you and go through final

numbers, meal choices, colours, table centres and put a final summary

together for you. Final payment is due six weeks before your wedding.

House Rules

There are very few things we have to say no to at Highfield but unfortunately

there are a few so just in case these may be something you really want at your

wedding we want to mention it straight away.

No Fireworks

No Real Flames (so any candles must be LED)

No Animals (apart from guide dogs) dogs are allowed on leads in the garden

No Alcohol to be brought on site so unfortunately no alcoholic favours for

example unless provided by Highfield.

Any alcoholic gifts must be handed to reception for safe keeping

Note: Guests bringing their own alcohol will be asked to leave it with reception until

leaving

We offer a wonderful setting here at Highfield Hall for couples wishing to hold

both ceremony and reception at the same location with a wide range of licenced

rooms including the garden room to choose from each with their own character

We realise that some couples wish to get married at a church or registry office,

We are always happy to provide a great venue for the wedding breakfast and

evening reception for couples wherever they choose to have their ceremony.

Outside Weddings

We are one of only a few local venues licensed for outside ceremonies.

We hope to provide the perfect setting for outside ceremonies during the

summer in our garden summerhouse.

However, as one of the only things we are unable to help with is the weather,

instead we have a wide range of alternative rooms available for you to use for

your ceremony if the weather is not suitable.

As you have the exclusive use of the hotel all rooms are available for you to

choose from as a back-up plan, so you can pick your favourite and plan your

day knowing whatever the weather you will have a wonderful ceremony.

different characters and able to seat different numbers of guests.

We are happy to show you around, and discuss which room would

work best for you.

Conservatory: Always a light bright room with views across the

gardens ideal for up to 60 guests

Restaurant A Traditional Georgian style room filled with

character perfect for up to 40 guests

Ballroom A versatile larger room able to adapt to seat small or

large numbers of guests from 30 to 140.

Very popular as an alternative wedding meal are the Premium BBQ or Hog Roast.

This enables you to have a formal seating plan with table centres, linen napkins,

chair sashes and all the other trimmings you would expect for a three course meal

Wedding Eve


Pre Wedding Day Stay We are often asked by couples if they can stay the night before the

wedding and set up for their wedding the day before.

We usually are not able to offer this as we would have a private function

who would have exclusive use but as we are getting asked more frequently

for this we have found a way we can make this possible.

We are pleased to offer a "Wedding Eve" package for £3,000 which would

include:

Exclusive use from 11.00 the day before your wedding (if there has been

a wedding the previous day then some bedrooms may not be available

until 12.30 if still being cleaned)

All 15 bedrooms available based on 2 people sharing for the night before

the wedding (including breakfast the following morning)

Note: We would not have the opportunity to do a full clean of the

bedrooms on the day of your wedding, so would only be able to offer a

refresh with fresh towels, coffees, teas etc but not a bedding change.

Lunch for 30 people provided early afternoon (sandwiches and chips, soup

& rolls, or similar alternative light snack)

A 3 course Meal early evening for 30 guests (additional guests charged at

£25 per person)

Tea & coffee station plus squash available all day for self-service

Bar available for guests wishing to purchase alternative drinks.

We require a £1000 non-refundable deposit

Bedrooms


We have 15 rooms available for your wedding including the Bridal

suite. All rooms are en-suite and have TV and tea & coffee making

facilities.

Prices are based on two people sharing and include a Full English

Breakfast

Additional people staying in a room are charged at £10 per person.

Single occupancy is available at a £10 per reduction per room

Standard Double - £80

Twin Rooms / Triple Rooms – £80

Superior/Family Room - From £120

These rooms include a double sofa bed and a larger

bathroom.

Check in time is 13.00 (excluding Bridal suite which is ready 10.30)

Check out time is 10.00.

Breakfast is served from 8.30 to 9.30.

Full Room Payment is required two weeks in advance.

A Special Rate is available of £1,100 based on 2 people sharing each

room, plus £10 for extra guests if all rooms are paid for with the final

wedding payment six weeks in advance of the wedding, giving a saving of

£10 per room

Why Choose Highfield?


My name is Lorraine, and my husband Richard and I purchased Highfield in

2012 after a long search for the perfect venue we could use to create a

wedding venue.

When we found Highfield we fell in love with her immediately. We loved the

drive with the trees arching over towards each other, the gardens with the

flowers and greenery, with the pagoda for outside ceremonies as a bonus,

and when we walked in we loved the character in Highfield with the original

features such as the wooden carved staircase, the original architrave, and

the stained-glass ceilings.

The layout of the various function rooms was ideal for weddings as it allows

guests to use their choice of rooms suitable for their number of guests for

the ceremony of on site, and for the wedding breakfast without having to

move guests from one room to another to re-set a room.

We have the flexibility to cater for a very small wedding of say 20 guests in

the day up to larger groups of up to 130 guests seated for a meal or up to

200 guests for a buffet or bbq in the evening.

We are an independent family run business and we are proud to support local

business where possible.

We use a local butcher and greengrocer to provide quality home-made food which

can be adapted to suit all tastes and any special requirements.

We are personally involved with every wedding but have a great team of dedicated

enthusiastic experienced staff and together we adapt and tweak to create your

perfect day without having to work from a check list or check with a head office

making it much easier to adapt and creating a friendlier relationship with each

wedding couple and very often their family too.

We truly love weddings and everything wedding related. We want every couple to

have their own perfect day, and by having only your wedding here, not even

another meal taking place, the day can truly be personalised to make it exactly as

you would like it to be.

The perfect size of Highfield means can provide exclusive use but without charging

a fortune for the privilege.

Here at Highfield Exclusive use means…

Nobody other than your guests and our staff is allowed in the gardens or

anywhere in the hotel.

Only your friends and family will be in your photos.

Nobody having a drink, meal or snack anywhere in the hotel or gardens.

Nobody apart from your wedding in any of the bedrooms. Only occupied

rooms need to be paid for, any not required by your wedding remain

empty.

Strangers will not be able to take canapes or buffet food or drinks.

Children will not be at risk of being approached by strangers.

Gifts can be left on the gift table without worry of them disappearing.

The timeframe for the day can be set to suit you - no other functions or

guests for us to work round.

No shared room where guests must mingle while a room is changed from

day to night - the whole hotel and every room is yours to use as you wish.

If you want a room for children to be entertained, a room for adults to get

away, a room for say a casino or themed games room there is always a

room for you available to use.

The menu is for you and your guests alone, so any personal tweaks can be

arranged such as vegetable soup with no onions for example.

This means for your wedding you truly can relax and feel at home.

We realised at an early stage that we could save couples money and hassle by

providing a lot of the items regularly used at weddings, and have since built up a

vast array of chair sashes, table centres, and extra's such as post box,, sweet cart,

and many other things which we include for you if required as part of the standard

wedding package.
