About ICEMP-2014 Conference

Materials play an important role in the advancement of science and technology and

human society. Advances in materials technologies and processes are prerequisites

for the growth of industrial sectors of any country. The demand for materials and

processes that are cost-effective, eco-friendly and energy efficient are rapidly

increasing and will continue to increase in the years to come. Considering India's

natural resources as well as industrial advancement and R&D capabilities, it has

now become almost imperative to narrow down the areas, which need special

attention. With this background an International Conference on Emerging Materials

and Processes (ICEMP-2014) is being organized. Eminent experts from the country

in the field of materials science and engineering will be invited to deliver lectures in

areas of their expertise.

ICEMP-2014 aims at bringing together academicians and researchers in various

disciplines to share knowledge and exchange views, for useful industrial

applications. The conference will facilitate discussion on the latest trends in the

entire gamut of advanced materials and processes. The deliberations will provide a

forum for researchers around the globe to present papers on recent advances in the

field of processing and manufacturing of advanced materials.

About CSIR-IMMT

The Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology-IMMT, (formerly Regional

Research Laboratory, Bhubaneswar) was setup as a premier establishment of the

Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi in 1964 in the State of

Odisha, in eastern India. The laboratory specializes in providing R&D support for

process and product development with special emphasis on conservation and

sustainable utilization of natural resources. Over the years, IMMT has developed

S&T capabilities in a wide range of areas from mineralogy to materials engineering.

The laboratory has expertise in conducting technology oriented programmes in

mining and mineral/bio-mineral processing, metal extraction and materials

characterization, process engineering, industrial waste management, pollution

monitoring and control, marine and forest products development, utilization of

medicinal and aromatic plants and appropriate technologies for societal

development.
